Hi, I have a question conserning contingent liabilities and provisions.
Can we clasify a Customer debt as that?
If we know at the YE that he will not pay his oblications as he has default?
It is a past event and show it as income for this year would be wrong as we are certain that we will loose our income.
Thank you.
@nafsika, I think in this case the amount will be written off as bad debt which will be shown as an expense in the income statement. Hope this has clarified the issue a bit.
Hi, Can some one plz confirm which book the intructor is referreing to in his lectures?
Hi ,the instructor is using Notes posted for June /Dec2010 .
You can also refer notes posted for June /Dec 2011 .They are same except page number and some modification.

Impairment Of GoodWill COMES where?…In Parents Column OR In Subsidary’s Column?????
Dear Tutor, I wasnt able to understand why pre ac retain earnings are ignored while calculating NCI investment valuation in example 8 of chapter 7. Only 40% of $1.65 X 80,000 is taken why not also 40% of $40,000 pre ac ret earn? In answer of example 6 share capital and preac ret earn of subsidary are used to calculate NCI investment valuation. Please advice.
