    Dear Admin,

let me appreciate the knowledge you shared on depreciation for TNCA because their CA amounts reduces over years and Amortisation for INCA because they die over time. my question is what about impairment for goodwill, what is the story or rationale behind it?

    Dear ALL,

A quicker way of knowing whether to put brackects or positive in the cash flow movements when doing a cash flow statement question.

    (a) assets move in the opposit direction with cash. increase inventory or receivables, decreases cash and the opposite is true..
    (b) liabilities move in the same direction with cash; increases in liabilities, increases cash and the opposite is true.

    Hi

Look at the answer again! Depreciation is deducted from th pre-depreciation profits, as per normal accounting. But at the bottom of page 178 you’ll find a tax and a deferred tax working to calculate the two relevant figures.. The tax calculation is based on the pre-depreciation amount, less the 100% first year allowance – so 1,800 – 600 (FYA ) = 1,200. !,200 x 25% = 300, and that’s the current tax charge.

Dear admin, could you assist me on the rationale of depreciation in the calculation of the DT, i am getting a litle bit confused with the example 2 in chapter 12 of OT, where you are subtrating depreciation from the profit before depreciation, whereas Kaplan are additing depreciation to the profits(profit are not specified either before or after Dep’n).
