    Hi

Do you think its advisable to take 2 P papers?

I am looking at 1&3 in June – but worry it will be too much as I work full time.

If you are not confident of your ability to attempt two papers in June …… then don’t. Why impose unnecessary additional stress on yourself which will probably be reflected by you not being able to give your best to either paper.

Having said that, I know that this has been done by others in the past – I think it depends entirely on the individual and the amount of time that person is prepared to devote to studying

      Sorry

Both combinations are OK – I would suggest that F8 and P2 might be better, but others may think different.
(I assume that you have already passed all the other F papers?)

    In F level I have F7-F9 left.Can I take F7,F8 and P1 exams in June 2014?
I doing a part time job. Will it be a good idea to do these three exams in one sitting?

No – it is not allowed.

You can only take P1 if you were to take F7, F8, and F9 all at the same time but to attempt 4 exams would really be too much.

johnmoffat is it not allowd for binc to enter for f7-9 AND p1 but just not turn up for f9? I have a friend who did that and left f4 until well into the p level exams – had to do f4 before she did p1 coz they are an the same day. Its an expensive way to do it – keep entering and not turning up but it is possible isnt it?

Of course it is always allowed to pay to enter exams and then not turn up. But I am certainly not going to recommend it to anyone (except in exceptional cases) since they lose the money if they do not turn up for the exam.

Can anybody please advise me as to what happens if we have not finished all 14 papers within the 10 year period ?
Will the BSc Degree granted by Oxford Brookes before the 10 year period would be validated if I could not complete ACCA but just the BSc Degree in time ?
Do they extend this period in any given circumstances ?

It’s unlikely that anyone has ever run out of time – the ACCA seem to work on the principle that, as each change in syllabus takes place, they reset the clock to start at zero again.

And the syllabus changes every 7 years or so.

Moral: don’t worry about running out of time

If you have been granted the BSc degree, then it will not be invalidated anyway even if you never complete the remaining ACCA exams.

Would you please advise me whether I should do F6 with P6 (advanced taxation) together?
I got exemptions for all F papers except F6. Thanks.

Depdends if you’ve finisehd F1 and F2 already.

when you book your exams it will let you book F4 if you are also booking F3.
Log on to myACCA and test it out.

You can sit F4 before F3 if you tick the box to say that you’ll take F3 as CBE. It’s a bit of a cheat, but at the moment still works (ACCA told me to do that if I wanted to take a paper before taking F1-3).

Still fail P2 but passed my P6, is my P6 still consider a pass? because i was told that to take the optional module i must first passed the essential module.

        Hi John,

While on the topic of rules and counting of passes etc…

With regard to the 10 year rule, if I don’t qualify within the 10 years, do I lose all the passes I have clocked up or just those that are more than 10 years ago?

don’t worry, I’m planning on qualifying well before the 10 year deadline, but a colleague of mine is getting close to the 10 deadline – that made me wonder what the rule was

        thanks

Good morning :). I plan on sitting for both the F7 and F8 exams next June. But the thing is that I work in an audit firm at an average of 10 hrs a day. Is it too much to study for both while working full-time?

I did F6 and F8 in December 2013 (so don’t know my pass marks yet).

I found that F8 expects a certain knowledge of accounting, and therefore wished I had studied F7 before attempting F8. I am now doing F7 in June. My F3 was only two years ago so I could still remember enough to get me through.

Here’s a thought . why not enter for F8, F9 and P2 but don’t turn up for F8. You can still do F9 and P2 and pass them even though you haven’t attempted F8. It’s an expensive way to do it because you pay for F8 entry but then dont turn up. but its a possibility if thats what you want to do

I wonder whether you lookd at the opentution survey resullts just above your post?

The worst combination according to the survey is f4 with f9.

The best one to do with f4 is according to the survey either f5 or f6

Makes you wonder why opentutuion bother doing the survey!

Any recommendation on which one should I take first?
    F8 in June 2014 then F9 and P1 in Dec 2014? or
    F9 in June 2014 then F8 and P1 in Dec 2014?

      Hi Henry

In my own opinion, F8 in June 2014 then F9 and P1 in Dec 2014 is better. P1 is a logical extension of F8.

      Regards.
