Hi I have passed F6, but failed F5 with 48 marks. I’m planning to appear for F7 and F8 in Dec 2013 plus F5. I’m working full time. Do you think it would be too much to handle?
I found f5 fairly straight forward. I’ve done some research online this morning and from many pools amongst students in fundamentals F7 is considered the most difficult one. If you take it from scratch plus F8 be prepared for many hours spent on that as F7 requires much more time to study on your own than other papers. If you think you can find and devote your spare time (evenings and weekends) for solid preparation and feel quite strong from F5 then go ahead. Otherwise I wouldn’t take it. My experience is that as I took three exams last year (F5,f7 and f9) I only passed f5 and after taking the other two again in June, I now passed just F9 so still F7 to sit again. I know that I will not take only one additional paper to go along f7 as even though I consider myself now having strong fundamentals of f7 I will still have to spend numerous hours on practising the exercises and especially improve my theory (as I suspect this let me down in the exam). That will have to be shared with the other paper I am intend to take so don’t think I would have enough time and energy to revise the third paper and then have three exams in one week. I also work full time and after last year experience I know I will never take three exams at once. This is good for people who have a strong academical background in accounts or have some practical experience from work (I work in credit control so have only small bits useful for my studies). However, I think if someone is self motivated and can study hard at home, especially memorising loads of theory then even three exams in one go should not be a huge problem. Good luck in December!
I am studying in London and just got my results this morning. Passed F9 and gutted about F7 (49 marks). From F’s I still have F6 and F8 to take before professional module. I am intending to take no more than 2 exams in December 2013 and as I will be repeating F7, can anyone advise me whether it is better to take F6 or F8 with it? Next, natural choice will be P1 (assuming I pass both December papers) and one more from F6/F8 whichever I would not take now, for December 2013. What two combitnations of F6,F7, F8 and P1 are optimal?
hello Pawel. I have just finished my F’s. I was taking 3 papers at a time. as I recommend you to take F8 with F7 as based on the same topic (financial reporting). after, you could take P1 with F6, asuming you pass both
Thank you ibra90. I assumed that f6 should better combination with f7 as it seems more difficult than f8 and by knowing big part of f7 already I would have more time to study f6 more thoroughly and make sure I will pass it. I got this idea by looking at the past pass rates and some pools by students where it seemed f* appeared easier to f6 but your opinion makes more sense I think so will definitely take it into consideration. Once again, thank you. (I took three exams last year and realised it’s too much for me so never again!)
yup for those who are working and studying at the same time….its better not to take 3 papers per sem considering acca ‘s syllabus.
Yup F7 and F8 is a better combination. I failed f7 with 48 marks today and am devastated coz i thought i would pass. so yea i will also be taking F7 and F8 for dec sitting! ^^
Hi tiffany07. Ah, some compassion here….. 馃檪 I was initially thinking of taking the review but after reading quite few online comments aobut it, I don’t see much point and instead of wasting my money on it, I better spend it on another f7 exam and make sure this time I will prepare better. Especially that I really find this quite interesting. It’s just too much to take. Good luck in December! are you also in London? Where do you study?
Hi, I am a newbie, and reading your post, I’m a bit nervous since I registered for f7 and f9, and I’m beginning to think that i might have made a mistake 馃檨 but congrats on passing f9 馃檪
what do u mean by registered? you already paid ur fees? you still can change it if thats the case, you can do it online. Besides Im not really sure if combinations matter, eventually you need to complete them anyway!!!! f7 n 9 isnt bad after all
If she already registered for the exams, I dont think she can change. Its hard to disagree with you, eventually we have to pass all the exams and be prepared well for each pepar but specific combinations can make student’s life little bit easier. 馃檪

Hi, the honest truth is that there is no right combinations to take and as I have just passed my f6 and f8……I would advice you take f7 with f6 because f8 is purely about auditing and has nothing to do with F7. Good luck with your decision.
H猫y guys Need some help here as well……I’m doing p2……so what is a good combination with that……I was thinking p 5? Is that a good combo? I know some may say p4 but I’m not in an auditing firm anymore and started Acca after working as an auditor. So maybe it would b good to do p4 as I’m in financial services now……..pls help….would really like to get Acca over and done with
Which Professional paper would be best to do with F7, I have been told to take P2 with it as they are similar but is it worth doing them toghether or would I be better of doing F7 & P1??
Take P1 or P3 with F7. F7 and P2 don’t go well along. Whole of F7 forms small part of P2 but its all the basics of F7 used in P2. The best for you would be F7 and P1 now. And if you want to take 3 then F7, P1 and P3. Later you can take P2, P5 and P6/7. F7 helps P2 and P3 helps P5 a lot.
helo guys i am planning to take f5 ,f7 n f8 for this dec sitting so is it good combination ?? i am bit sacred of f8 bcoz its hard as f7 n f8 fall in 2 consecutive days so plzz help me 馃檪
I think F5 and F9 is a good combo since they cover some of the same material plus you have 4 clear days to practice the other since f5 is done on monday and f9 on friday. Just got my result passed both and f4. didnt think i could do it esp since i used only the kit and ot lectures for f9 it was rough but you got a better idea of what is required from the two papers.

Im confused between F5 and F9…….can anyone suggest me which paper will be the best suited with F6 and F7 paper………. as i find both Management accounting and Financial Management tough so i want to take them one after another in each semester……. I have completed my F4 paper this semester……..and now i want to take 3 papers per semester……… So kindly tell me what will be the best combination………. F5 F6 F7. Or. F6 F7 F9
What would you suggest if I am thinking to go for only two papers in Dec 13? I am confused about which subject I should go for with F6? Also, do you think 3 papers are doable if say I start preparing from now on? Which 3 papers? I appeared for F4 exam this June.
Hello, can anyone tell me if we can do F9 and P1 in the same exam session? Do we need to clear all the F level papers before starting the P level? Thank you.
Yes, you can, so long as you have passed all the other F level papers (or at least you are entering all those that you haven’t passed at the same time as you intend sitting for P1)
Just to be clear, I recently passed F4, F5 and F9 planning to do F7 and 8 Dec, is it possible to enter for F6 and P1 June?
i dont which to attempt 3 papers in one sitting again ( i work fulltime plus i have a toddler) i like doing one computation and one theory, as it stands it looks like F7 is a lot of work
yes that should, when did f9 with p1 together. the best way to find out is got to the acca website try to book exam then you will find out if you are allow to do it because they will only allow you to book the once you are entitle to sit. just do finished the booking .
hey guys…can you advise me whether F5 and F8 is a good combo or not? wanted to take F8 and F9 but the exam is on consecutive days which is hard for me. Do what do u all say? F5 and F8 for dec sittings.
Hello Tiffany, I don’t know for F5 and F8, but its true, I find it hard also to do 2 papers on consecutive days… I had F5 and F6 on consecutive days last week…
Hi Tiffany, I did F5 combined with F8 (thats before F7) and it is the best combo I have ever taken. The scary part is F8 (which need abit of F7 knowledge) but aslong as your F3 knowledge is fresh then it is doable. The consecutive days thing is not a factor aslong as you are prepared.
Thanks Yando that really helped…so F5 and F8 it is for Dec sitting 馃檪 True, consecutive days souldnt be a problem but the thing is in ACCA, no matter how much you are prepared u still feel unprepared due to the pressure etc. but really thanks :)))

I wouldn’t do F5 and F7 together. Both require lots of study preparation, and you need to work as much as you can in order to pass. I sat for F5 with F4 , and F7 with F8, and this worked out well

when is the P7 lecture notes going to be posted.
I took F4 and F9 together. Scored 80 in F4 and 62 in F9 馃檪

Take either F5 and F9 OR F7 and F8. Don’t mess with three at a time.
I think its better to take F5 & 7 or F5 & 8.
Basically avoid exams that falls on consecutive days…. better
No, F7 and F8 & P2 and P7 should be taken together. Because IAS and ISA should be studied together.
umm fren i am taking f5 n f8 together
good luck, I hope you’ve passed F7 before taking F8

Neither F5 or F9 really have any connection with F6 and F7 馃檪
However, best really to take F9 after F6 because there is a tiny bit of (easy) tax in F9 and it makes it even easier if you have already studied F6.
So….I would suggest F5, F6 and F7 if you intend to take three papers.
Sir,
What would you suggest if I am thinking to go for only two papers in Dec 13? I am confused about which subject I should go for with F6? Also, do you think 3 papers are doable if say I start preparing from now on? Which 3 papers? I appeared for F4 exam this June.
Sorry for many questions 馃檨
Looking forward for your advice soon 馃檪
Thanks.
I suppose you have passed F1-F4. My advice for you:
F5+ F6
F7+F8
F9+P1
P2+P3
options depend on you..
In case you want 3 at a time:
F5+F6+F9
F7+F8
P1+P2+P3
If you take 2, only one more session is added but more chances of passing in first attempt.
Please suggest which paper goes well with F6 (for Dec 2013) if I go for two papers in one session? 3 papers possible / doable together? Which 3?
s it possible to take 3 skill module paper and one proffesional paper
Is F5 & F9 a good combination OR F5 & F6?
F5 and F9
Sir is it possible to do p2 with p4 or is it compulsory to first complete p3 also?
Thanks in advance
Hasan you have to pay for P3 and P1(if not cleared) then you can pick any optional.
Hasan you have topay for P3 before picking any optional
Thanks danish 馃檪 so i gotta pay for june 2014 p3?

I got my f1 exempted. So I got f2 f3 and f4. Can I only do 2 of this in june? Also how many times can i repeat one subject (example f4)? please do advice my friends.
There is no rule in ACCA for how many paper to write……..
It is your choice….
But the maximum you can write in a sitting is 4….
There is no problem if you write only 2 papers….
You can do 1, 2, 3 or 4 papers in any single session. You can do 8 each year! (Not many students attempt that!) There is no limit to the number of times you resit a paper other than the rule which states that, if you haven’t passed them all within 10 years, then you will be “timed-out”
However, that is most unlikely because, every time the ACCA change the syllabus / exam structure, the ten year limit starts again
Hi Mike,
How often do acca change the syllabus. I enrolled in 2008 sat F2 and F3 then took a 3 year break sat f1 dec 12 and now f4 in june 13. Just wondering if the 10 year rule has started again since 2008.

Hi, I believe it was last re-started in 2007. However, it will likely be re-started again within the next 3 or 4 years

the ten years rule will apply from your first registration so you need to be careful about this. you need to contact acca if you know you cannot finished in time.
do you assessment now rather that last minute. if you cannot finished in time before the 10years lapse try finished the skills level and do UB degree and move to anther professional body like cima/aca.
but you get 5 years to go that more that enought.
Please help
That sounds like a cry of desperation! Are you ok?
I think, exam results would be more objective than the survey.
Have you access to information that let to identify the better combination of exams based on actual results? It would be great research!
thanks very much for this now i know what i’ll do next semister

I left only F9 from paper F and I would like to take F9 with P4 (advanced F9) assuming that the course overlap each other. is it possible to take F9 with P4. please advice me
