    Dear OpenTuition

    I think this survey should be updated considering the numerous changes to the courses.

    Professional papers could also be included for increased relevance.

    Thanks

      Why don’t you try September exams? 2 or 3 depends on your aptitude. If you are in doubt better do 2.

      You did not mention what options will you go for and there are only three compulsory P exams: P1, P2 and P3.

      Hi. I am not sure how familiar you are with the syllabus for each. In general, both P1 and P3 are theory based papers where knowledge and its application to the scenario questions is required. P2, on the other hand, is very technical as it is an advanced version of F7, so also combined with theory and examiner’s expectation that you have the knowledge of F7. For many students P2 is way more difficult to pass than the other two.

    Hi guys I have passed P1 and I am awaiting results for P3. I plan on doing P2 in March as aresit . My question is which option paper to attempt next? I failed F5 quite a few times but passed eventually with an ok mark in the 60s, failed F8 a couple times but passed in the 50s and passed F9 on my first attempt but here P4 is quite challenging.

      I sat for P4 last week and i can say the paper is not hard but i did not do well because i did not revise that subject . The problem is you cant read the whole syllabus but i think spotting is the key to P4. Instead of doing all the chapters i would suggest 6 and then you cover them thoroughly and then from those 6 if by chance you get 3 questions in the exam then u are done but if not then its a disaster.

        @tich2010 that’s poor advice for any paper. i agree that reading the text from start to end may not work but you have to cover all of the syllabus and practice all the questions in a updated kit, then go back over the ones you have difficulty with. reading the technical articles is a must.
        question spotting when doing any ACCA paper does not work. The only way to pass is practice and understanding the requirements.

      @tendai

      Yes you can pass P7 after failing f8 several times if on the last attempt you learnt the audit language. I found when I did F8 it was not about lack of knowledge but learning how to answer the questions a certain way. there was a great article on the acca website that showed what a typical candidate will write and critique it. I would advise that you go through all that is available on the acca website for F8 and you will find your way.

      P4 as an option, if you are good with F9 then by all means follow up with P4. honestly all the option papers are hard and it will take you applying yourself to pass.
