Can someone explain the different between P2 (INT/UK/IRL) and P2 UK. I want to write P2 exam that can enable practice in UK and internationally. Which P2 exam will I take in June 2014. Thank you
I am not very sure whether UK will require a P2 (UK) pass for you to be able to practice in UK. But I understand that the P2 UK syllabus is intended to highlight some few matters in UK FRS which differ materially with IFRS.
If you are using study materials from Kaplan in preparation for your P2 (Intnl) paper you will find that material matters particular to UK GAAP are highlighted at the end of each chapter. This makes it easier for you to grasp both P2 (Intnl) and P2 (UK) at the same time. aif you consider those issues you will be able at the end of your study to choose whether to attempt Intnl or UK P2 paper.
I hope to have advised you accordingly.
Hey there,
I will be studying and sitting for Paper P2 (Intnl) and P3 June 2014. Anyone doing either of the papers? Please let us form a discussion forum and exchange views on these papers and get out of this hurdle as soon as possible.

@acca0393, i will be writting p2 and p3 by June. So we can!
I had an email to say you had replied to my above comment but I can’t see any reply?
Can anyone tell me which tutor is the best in in Kaplan or BPP for studying the P2 International paper please?
Hi there,
I will be studing for P2 UK version – do you have any notes and lectures on this as the notes above appear to only be for International?
Thanks
Stacey
The UK version just tests the differences between UK and International standards. I did it last time and failed by five marks and am going for the international in December. I think the comparison questions are too tricky – too much to learn.
