In relation to the functions of NEDS, one of the functions listed, ‘is to constructively challenge and contribute to the development of strategy.’ My question is, does the contribution to the development of strategy only relate to entities with a single tier board structure? Because when discussing the characteristics of two tier structure, the NEDS are responsible for the general overseeing of the entity and business strategy and have supervisory not managerial role.
Hello Mr Mike. I have loved watching your tutorial videos and found it very helpful. I have studied for all fundamental papers from the bpp books. I’m currently studying for my P1 and the bpp text is very extensive. I wanted to know if studying from the open tuition notes would be enough as a study text to cover the syllabus.
If this is a question for me, please post it on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum under a new thread and explain the question fully – at the moment I’m inclined to be ‘clever’ and say “No, that’s my personal business” but if you had more fully explained the surrounding scenario, then my answer could have been different
No – you’ll have to buy one from a reputable publisher. (At the moment there is a facility for you to take advantage of a 20% discount offered by BPP if you order your material through this site)
If there are 14 members on a board, 7 EDs and 7 NEDs. To create the sub-committees, such as the Audit, Nominations, Remuneration, Ethics, Risks and CSR Committees. Will the members consists of the 7 NEDs? Or will more NEDs have to be recruited to make up a panel on these committees?
Those 7 existing non-executive directors will be assigned roles to play on the various sub-committees.
No, we don’t NEED any more neds, but there’s nothing on this Earth to prevent us appointing more.
The difficulty with neds is that they are hard to find! There is a paucity of people that are appropriately qualified / experienced / successful and that are prepared to give up some time to act as non-executive directors
I am having problem with the flow of the lecture as it keeps on stopping in the middle and I have to re-start everything again and done this several times now and still haven’t found a solution to the proble, please any help available

This is not an appropriate place to post your question! It should be in the Ask ACCA Tutor forum … I very rarely look in the general forum
Post this again so that everyone will be able to see it under an appropriate subject line and I’ll get straight back to you

Do you necessarily have to say how many shares you own???

where can i find that revision kit, Mr Mike Little is taking about?
admin says
I don’t know what he is saying in this lecture, but normally, the tutor is using BPP Revision kit
BUT I think, you are confused about something else.
ALL P1 Lectures are based on opentuition course notes, not revision kit
