Dear Mike, I got the overall meaning of the two theories however I cannot understand clearly the distinction between two.
Activists said that there is one set of moral rules and that one is the only correct one. However they admit there are different cultures and these cultures (as well as individuals) have their own set of rules. Doesn’t the relativism theory mean the same. People have their own moral rules and respect the rules of others?
Mike, you are always going on about how you are now a vegan…and for that reason I recommend that you give the whole region a miss. If you were to drive there, I’d recommend that you get yourself an international driving permit, from my experience, first time I was asked and didnt have it, money exchanged hands, the second time I was asked and had it as soon as I went for the glovebox they lost interest on it. Hows that for stage 1 step 1! On a more generic point, the place is beautiful, as long as you dont mind witnessing chaos, destruction of nature, lack of planning in buildings and an inherent tendency for corruption by every official that you come in contact with. Other than that, its pretty amazing….a case of, “beautiful place…shame about the people though, kinda thing”. And being that I am getting married there this summer, you are duly invited should you want to (unfortunately cannot tour guide for you, due to logistical aspects of planning a wedding and whatnot) 馃檪

Very good lecture and easy to understand. Thanks for this mike. The example might not suit every one but it is clear and understandable which is the main thing. Thanks Mike
let me just elaborate a little if i may :), it isnt at all what Islam considers acceptable to fly planes into buildings… besides 911 being related to Islam was altogether non -sense in the first place :/ is it really rational that buildings that high pancake into their own footsteps rather than toppling over, and what about the 3rd building that no one knows abt that also pancaked (wtc7)… clearly, if u realise that there were explosives in the building and it was strategically imploded (controlled demolition) than one realises it was the greatest drama in modern history as far as Islam goes, “If you kill one person unjustly it is as if you killed the whole humanity, and if you saved once person it is as if you saved the whole humanity.” (Quran Surah 5 Verse No 32)
Bahram’s comment was made more than 2 years ago – a bit stale now!
Interesting to read the posts on this thread defending Islam. I personally have no argument with any religion and certainly not Islam.
What does leave me very confused is the headline-hitting organisation going under the name IS – what does that abbreviation stand for? Independent Society?
I have not the slightest doubt that 99.99% of Muslim people around the World are wonderful people. And the same with Christians. And Jewish people. And everyone come to that.
Why is it that the 0.01% of people bring distress and distrust to the rest of us?
I am a catholic by birth and a common-sense person by choice. Do I dismiss that there could be something bigger out there, no because I dont know….but the concept of respecting this or that religion, I certainly do not. I respect your right to pray to any deity of your choosing…as long as it bares no impact on me….religion, sex, politics, and football (if you are a Spurs/United fan) have no place to be discussed in a public arena….unless an opinion has been asked of you. I mean in the 6 step approach, we are talking first step kinda talk here! *rant over*
i always thought studying books of bpp is better choice than listening ot lectures.but i came to conclusion that these notes are begining one to begin before steeping to bpp materials.thanks to admin.with appreciation.
