If you want a Study Text then you will need to buy it from one of the approved publishers – they are listed on the ACCA website.

However our lectures and Course Notes are enough to be able to pass well without a Study Text, provided that you practice lots of questions (preferably using a Revision / Exam Kit from one of the approved publishers ).

Lectures can only be watched online – it is the only way that we can keep this website free of charge.

Hi, which text book best accompanies these F9 lectures?

To be perfectly honest, you do not need a textbook.

There is enough in the Course Notes together with the lectures, to be able to pass the exam well.

If you want to read in more detail and buy a text book, then any of the ACCA approved publishers are good.

(One book that you must get however is a Revision / Exam Kit. Although our notes and lectures cover more than enough, it is vital to practice as many questions as possible – the Revision / Exam Kits contain past exam questions and more as well.)

Would appreciate some help on the annuity factor formula please – I’ve just recently bought a scientific calculator so please excuse what may seem like a silly question! To get AF the formula is 1 – (1+r)-n / r what button on calculator do I press to get -number of periods? I have a button which says x-1 but it only works for periods of one year (perhaps I should have paid attention in equation classes after all!) Thanks!

You should have a button that has x^y

(However, in Paper F9 you have never had to calculate the annuity factor yourself. You are always expected to use tables, and if (for some reason) the cost of capital is not a whole percent (e,g 9.3%) then you are expected to use the table using the nearest percent (in my example, 9%))

Are you using a download manager? If so then you will need to turn it off.
