Hi..there iz problem in the site so we are unable to download video lectures from the site when we open the lectures no downloading option so lot of problem for me in study as no lectures available..i m opentuition user since three user first time i face this kind of problem..opentuition best source of study for acca student so plz ok this site for downloading

Hello please help me out with December 2009 question 5b the question concerning the EPS.

@thelmai, remember, with the basic EPS, there is a rights fraction (CRAP/TERP), which works out to 3.8/3.6.
Rights fraction – 4 x 3.8 (market price) = 15.2
1 x 2.8 (rights issue price) = 2.8

therefore the fraction 3.6 (18/5)
shares @ 1.10.08 = 36,000 x 3/12 x 3.8/3.6 = 9.5m
shares @ 1.09.09 = 45,000 x 9/12 =33.75m
Total WANES = 43.25 (9.5 + 33.75)
Therefore the basic EPS = $15m (net profit)/43.25 (WANES) = $34.7c

@warda, Hi Warda – the answer to question Cavern has been recorded and you should be able to find it on this site. I’ve written out the answer and explained each step as I came to it.
If you still cannot find it, post again and we’ll ask Admin where he has hidden it.
