In the calculation, why not combine the inflation to the year 1 in order to get comparable figure e.g. Sales 5,250*1.06 then use this figure to compare the figure 5,320 in the year 2?

By all means – there is no one correct answer, and most of the marks are for sensible discussion rather than for the numbers.
(The inflation is 1% and not 6% 馃檪 )
