It really depends on what calculator you have – different calculators do it different ways. I guess you have watched my lecture on learning curves, because there I write down which calculator keys I press. However, in case you missed it, this is what I do on my calculator!
100 x^y 0.152 +/- = (at that stage the calculator is showing 0.49659) I then multiply by 45 and get 22.346654
Mr Moffat missed a zero when using b. Well we won’t hold that against him as his brilliant explanations have more than compensated for this, but the examiner will perhaps deduct 0.5 marks from us so be careful in the exams.
June 2013 Q3 Learning curve
Y = axb
45 x 100–0·152 = 22·346654 minutes
Total time for 100 units = 2,234·6654 minutes.
Can you please help me how to calculate the answer of 22.346654?

May I know the exam time is three hours, whether include o exclude planning time which is 15 mins. Kindly advice. Thank you!
The exam instructions from the ACCA make this clear. You have 15 minutes reading time, and then 3 hours writing time.
Thks!
