Thanks to Open Tuition for this type of learning support. Listening to the introduction has open my eyes on the syllabus and the five broad areas of the exam to focus on. This lecture is more than helpful to me because this is the first time i am having helpful support along with the text book as a long distance learner. Hoping to be successful on the first attempt. god bless
If the book was published in 2012 then there is not a problem.
However, if it is labelled as being for the 2012 exams, then there have been changes to the syllabus. Most of the book is OK but there have been a few things added – you can find out what they are by looking at the syllabus on the ACCA website (they list the changes at the very end of it).
All of the new areas are covered in our Course Notes and our lectures.
Mr John!! Thank you very much!!!! I thank God for my success and secondly I thank you because I admit it, I wouldn’t have passed the F5 exam on first attempt without your help!!! I could have sent you a private message but I’d like to share my experience here to let everyone know what a great tutor you are! You have made a great difference in my results, thank you!!!
Ps. Passed F4, F5 and F6 on first attempt in this exam session! 馃榾 (studied F5 and F6 mostly on open-tuition! )
Most of the 2011 book is fine. However there have been a few changes to the syllabus since then – the biggest is the introduction of multi-product CVP analysis. Our course notes are up-to-date.
Yes – the course notes do cover the change of syllabus. Although certain topics have been deleted from the syllabus (such as basic variances) they are still examinable and have only been deleted because they are assumed knowledge from Paper F2. The only new topic is the last chapter in the course notes..
I have Heard today they have removed, correlation, regression, n time series from tha june 2013 syllabus n have added another chapter, Could you please let us know about it. it was just recent update
The change was announced last year! Regression and time series have not been removed – they are now assumed knowledge from Paper F2. YOu will not be asked calculations but you are expected to understand what they are. The same applies to basic variances – they are assume knowledge from Paper F2 – but you can still be asked some of them (and you need to understand them anyway to be able to do planning and operational variances). The course notes include an extra chapter on management information.
Thank you very much Sir. Since My lecture Told It will not be Asked in june 2013, I have completely ignored, but now I will refresh my mind in this as well without any risk. Thank you for the Time which you took for the Reply. Ur the Best lecture I have ever seen in my life N the best reason is the way u explain it make sense how or why we do it like that in management. Opentiution Is the best 馃檪
The more you read the better (because there is a lot of writing in the exam – not just calculations). However there is enough in our Course Notes to be able to pass the exam well, provided you really understand everything and do not just learn rules without understanding. You must practice as many questions as possible to get used to the style of the exam and the level required. Work through all the questions in your revision kit and pay special attention to those that are past exam questions.
Is that Possible you can Record the lecture for the Topics which are not yet uploaded, I am sitting in my June exam Next June, I have gain a lot of help from the opentiution in F2 specially. Thank you very much for the kind help which you all are providing.

I’ve found the lectures I’ve viewed so far very helpful.
Can anyone advise how many hours of lectures there are for this syllabus, an approximation will suffice. Thanks in advance.

I will record a lecture when I have the time, but it is unlikely to be before this June’s exams.

That combination is OK, but it is maybe better to take them in order (it is useful to take F6 before F9)
