Hi mike, Just wanted your opinion on the Global Practice tests available on Myacca. Do you think I should purchase those tests if i’m doing the Eng variant?
Sir, the cases mentioned in your lectures which should be at the end of the lecture notes are not included in the F4 lecture notes on this website. Kindly assist us by uploading the case files
They were removed last year because you no longer need to remember the case names. You DO need the point of law and the story about the case hopefully makes the point of law easier to remember
Dear Mike, Could you please tell me where can I find chapter 1-5 (GLO) law video because I didn’t find it and i am the first time for sitting exam. How long do I need to study for F4 to sit exam?
Serena, there is no video for the first 9 global law chapters. After chapter 9 the global and english variants are identical so there are videos for those next chapters.
Practice as many mcqs as you can lay your hands on, as many times as you have time and don’t mark your attempt in the question book – mark your answers on a separate piece of paper. That way you can keep doing those questions time and time again without being distracted by your previous efforts
When you come across something in the course notes for those first 9 chapters that you don’t understand, post your question (on the F4 Ask ACCA Tutor page) and I’ll get back to you
I can’t tell you how long you need – too many variables that only you can answer – but I DO know that you can read (just read) through the entire course notes in around 2 hours and if you will do that 3 or 4 times (ideally, this week!) and listen to the video lectures for the chapters 10 onwards, then you should be ready to have a crack at the mcqs
hello Mike you mentioned in this lecture (statue) that there are case that you have in notes from page 123 to 137 but the one i downloaded didnt have any. Can you please tell where can i get it from?
These lectures were recorded at a time when case names were (relatively) important
With the change in exam format the need to know case names has virtually disappeared.
It’s a great pity because the cases were (and still are) an easy way to rememeber and illustrate points / principles of law but you’re never now going to need to know the wonderful story of Mrs Carlill and her smoking balls.
Here’s the post six before yours – I don’t believe that it needs any further explanation but, if you need to, please do ask again đ
“It would take you less than two minutes to read the rest of this thread. What you will get from that two minutes is the clear message that your question should be on the Ask the Tutor page
When you look at F4 Ask the Tutor page and start reading down the subject headings for the many posts, it wonât take you long to find a post where the subject could possibly be interpreted as being similar to your question.
Try that and see if you can find my response there that would apply to your question
Incidentally, unless your future posts relate specifically to the lecture that you have just watched, your questions would be better posted on Ask the Tutor.
I rarely look at ârecent postsâ so itâs quite likely that I will miss your question if itâs there. However, I look daily and frequently at Ask the Tutor and will always reply”
Hi there. I just wanted to say a big thank you to Mike and OpenTuition. These lectures, and the supporting notes, were my main resource for F4 and I passed the CBE with 74%. Thank you!
Not that I’m aware of, although I did have a great Uncle called Sid… I don’t think he was an accountant, but I’ll ask my Dad.

Dear Mike
I wish I had found these lectures before failing the CBE F4 exam back in March. Finally I passed it yesterday.
The lectures are wonderful, especially the ones with audience/ students, because of the interactions; the story style makes them more vivid and informative and I have learned a lot of things not only to pass the exam, but also for practical situations in life.

I have new Paper F4 (Global) Text book, Revision Kit and postcards for sale. Books are dated until 31 August 2016. I have decided to not continue with acca qualification and so please feel free to email me on mo**********@ya***.uk to get them. Also I hold books for F5 paper which are available for sale…
Sir could u please explain â˘One person business â˘Self-employed â˘Sole control/responsibility â˘Few formalities â˘Personal liability for business debts, etc
Mine is a one-person business. I am not employed by anyone, I am an independent freelance lecturer so I am self-employed
I have sole control over what I do, and when, and for whom
I am therefore also solely responsible for my actions.
I have few formalities with reference to the running of my business – I don’t have order forms nor purchase requisitions, goods received notes nor meetings with agendas, I have no shareholders to whom I would be responsible and I don’t maintain statutory registers.
But if my business incurs a debt and doesn’t pay it (because I realize that there is no money in the business bank account) then I am personally liable and should settle the debt from my own private bank account

I’ve just answered this! Please do not replicate your questions – they’re either in ask the tutor or they’re in general forum but, please, not in both

Two points here
1) please change your avatar – the ACCA get very upset when someone uses their logo without permission and
2) please post your question on the Ask the Tutor page
Thanks

Thanks Mike. Will follow up on the same.

What are units 1 and 2 about? Global or English?
Whatever, there are no plans to record any more within the immediate future.
Clearly, should you come across something about which you are confused or you don’t understand, then post your question.
But if you want an answer from me, then post your question on the Ask the Tutor page

Thank you very much for this lecture. But the lectures for unit one and two are missing. Are they going to be published later? Thank you
