Thank you very much for the lessons very helpful. I am still not quite clear the difference between Stratified and Multistage sampling, as in both you need to divide or split in group. However, it looks to me that if the question mention the word “proportion” or “percentage” it will be definitely Stratified. Am I correct? Thank you in advance for your help.
As the professor said in the lesson that Stratified sampling focuses on category while Multistage sampling focuses more on groups. e.g. Man or Woman(it’s a category); a big group divided into small groups (it’s not specifically concerning about men or women, they can both in those groups) and..yes, “proportion” and “percentage” can be a distinction between these two sampling methods.
it is really helpful. i m gonna sit for the exam on 17th.last time i could not pass as i only read the study book n tried the practice kit may b.only yesterday i found ur opentution website.n now i m able to understand many things which i did assume first time.i m happy to have this lectures. is there any suggestion for me to pass in the exam as i hv very little time.
Thank you for the material. I do have a question: i have kaplan f2 book, it only has 20 chapters (2 of which is exam papers and question), is it ok? Thanks again
But most important is the Exam Kit. If you watch and understand our free lectures then you do not need the Study Text so much. However what you do need is lots of practice – the Exam Kit contains lots of exam-standard questions to practice on.
Is there any way to increase the speed of the videos? If not it would be a great feature to add that way people can watch at what they feel is a comfortable speed.
I must admit that this is really a silly question (and I will remove it from the notes). There are arguments regarding all of the choices – I will not go into them because it will only cause confusion and waste your time. Sorry 馃檨
In order to watch lectures on an android tablet, you must have a browser with flash player in it. Intially I found that video lectures don’t work with Google chrome. Then I found a browser named ‘photon browser’ in google playstore which has flash player installed in it. Using this browser you will surely be able to watch video lectures in android tablets. If any further issues about this problem pls dont hesitate to text in below. 馃槈

Primary or secondary depends on why the data was collected (not who is using it).
So, with the census various information is published. For example, it might give the proportions of the population within different age groups. Because the data was collected specifically to give this information (by there being a question on the census form) it is primary. Secondary is when the data was collected for some other reason and then used for a different reason.
So, there is nothing related to internal and external source of data. I think this point makes the question 1 confusing to us. Also thank you for your lecture!

Primary data in simple terms is unused or processed data whereas secondary data been data already used for a different purpose which you are not going to rely on for on to perform a task
The question is a little silly to be honest, but the reason is that (i) and (iii) are calculated using data that was collected for another purpose. (ii) and (iv) we are using data that exists specifically for a purpose.

Hi Sir
Can we use these lectures for June 15 exams
Yes – the syllabus has not changed.
Hi there,
Thank you for the material. I do have a question: i have kaplan f2 book, it only has 20 chapters (2 of which is exam papers and question), is it ok? Thanks again
If it is Kaplan then certainly it is OK 馃檪
But most important is the Exam Kit. If you watch and understand our free lectures then you do not need the Study Text so much.

I changed the questions a little because one of them certainly was not a good question.
However, I am not going to re-record the lecture just for that 馃檪
hehe I was bit confused. Thanks! (Love your lecture btw)
May I ask which one was not a good question, sir?
If you don’t mind, that is.. 馃檪

hello. Is this information up to date and can be useful for Jan exams?
Yes – the information on here is always kept uptodate and is OK for the 2014 exams.
if you make the lectures downloadable then it will help a lot.
hope you do it.
The only way that we can keep this website free of charge is by not making the lectures downloadable.
will it be possible to watch this in mobile ?
Depends what phone you have 馃檪
Try looking at the support page if it is not working on yours.
Thx John, working- but taking time to load. It would be appreciated if any option to download?
Lectures can only be viewed online. It is the only way that we can keep this website free of charge.
can’t download video, pls help me
You can download the Course Notes, but videos can only be watched online. It is the only way that we can keep this website free of charge.
Hi John
Just a quick message to say thank you. I passed F2 by CBE yesterday (82%) by studying from your lectures and course notes.
Thanks a lot
Aaron
That’s great – congratulations 馃檪
hi Aaron,
what criteria used for study F2? Thanks for your note
I must admit that this is really a silly question (and I will remove it from the notes).
There are arguments regarding all of the choices – I will not go into them because it will only cause confusion and waste your time.
Sorry 馃檨
Thank you.

still cant understand how a census is primary and not secondary!

is this lecture valid for 2013 exams?
Of course they are. All of our lectures are valid for the 2013 exams.
Okey good, i will rely on them in my acca journey
No – the answer is C.
The question is a little silly to be honest, but the reason is that (i) and (iii) are calculated using data that was collected for another purpose.
(ii) and (iv) we are using data that exists specifically for a purpose.
This Lecture is realy understandable…..wow……wish i have him for Fau…….thank u …..
