output total cost (units) ($) 200 7000 300 8000 400 8600 For output volume above 350 units the variable cost per unit falls by 10% (this applies to all units)
They used to be in the lecture notes, but have now been removed and instead there are online practice tests for each chapter. You can find them linked from the main F2 page. (I must remove them from the lecture)
Sir you said “forklift driver” is an indirect labour it doesn’t produce any thing. You said in previous lecture that indirect costs are necessary for production but cannot be measured in one unit and cost which is not necessary for production are non production costs. So how come forklift driver is an indirect cost not a non production cost????
To be sure of a reply you should ask in the Ask the Tutor Forum. It is not always possible for me to see all comments on lectures, but questions in the Ask the Tutor Forum are always answered within 24 hours.
As the forklift truck driver is working in the factory, it is a cost of production. But since it cannot be measured on a per unit basis, it is an indirect production cost (or production overhead).
In solving the question no 1; After deducting the extra fixed cost of 5000 and getting d variable cost. You did not work out ur fixed cost before moving to the total cost of producing 20000unit? What if our cost did not have any step up fixed? How are we going to calculate the cost of producing the 20000 units? Please I need more clarification on this.. Thank you sir.
Same here, I am only seeing 5 Multiple Choice Questions but neither of them are in comparison to those being explained in the lectures. Can someone please direct me to that last example explained in this lecturer. Thanks in advance.
Sorry – they need cutting from the lecture. (It is because the questions used to be in the lecture notes, but have now been removed and instead we have the online practice questions).
Hi John where do we get access to the exact question from this lecture? I have seen questions for Chapter 4 on the website however some of them are different. Thanks!
Sorry but I haven’t find the question yet… in F2 lecture notes there are no question ( the chapter ends at page 17 of the pdf file)! Can you be more specific
In the meantime, thank you so much for your dedication and work on the site!!! We are very grateful!
If you are using the current set of lecture notes then it is on page 14. (If you downloaded the previous set, then it is on page 16). The example is headed up “Example 6”!!
I’m very understand about the question as below can you explain it?
5. Up to a given level of activity in each period the purchase price per unit of a raw material is constant. After that point a lower price per unit applies both to further units purchased and also retrospectively to all units already purchased.
For example, the price may be $10 per unit for quantities of up to 1,000 units. Once we buy above 1,000 then all units only cost $9 per unit (including those already bought).
Actually your message has made me realise that test question 7 should not in fact be at the end of this chapter but should be at the end of chapter 6 on accounting for labour.
We don’t record videos for any of the test questions, but if you still have a problem with it after reading chapter 6 then please ask in the F2 Ask the Tutor Forum and I will help you.
Hi I am wondering if I go through the lectures will it be a good replacement from studying the textbook? I know I will have to of course practice through the exam kit which I already bought. I prefer the lectures as reading the BPP book is a pain.
Our lectures (together with the free lecture notes that go with them) cover all you need to be able to pass F2 well. You only need the Revision Kit so that you can practice lots of questions.
We don’t usually go through the tests in the lectures – they are for you to try!! In the lectures we go through the examples in the notes.
If you have looked at the contents page of the lecture notes you will have seen that the answers to all of the tests are in the lecture notes. If you have problems with any of the answers then you should ask in the Ask the Tutor Forum.
I’m planning to write F2 and F3 in November, I’m using exam kit Get Through Guides (Feb 2013 to Jan 2014), may I buy other updated ones maybe BBP, Kaplan,Becker in order to prepare may exam or still use them.
Please post questions like this in the Ask the Tutor Forums and not as a comment on a lecture. You can still use your Get Through Guides – the syllabus has not changed.

You must ask this sort of question in the Ask the Tutor forum, and not as a comment on a lecture.

Also sir i cannot access f2 practice questions and also cannot find any help from support page

The practice tests are all working fine.
Have you clicked on the link from the main Paper F2 page?
If you have, then all I can suggest is that you try a different browser.

Sir but you sid that it works in stores and also it doesn’t produce any thing.
Hussain says
So if forklift driver works in store not in a factory and also doesn’t produce any thing so how can it be indirect cost
John Moffat says
It was raw material stores.

Sir, how come the note for March/June exam doesn’t include tests as it used to. Where is the online MCQ test?
John Moffat says
They are all online – you can find the link to the practice tests from the main Paper F2 page.
(This is stated at the end of each chapter of the free F2 lecture notes)
gbemmybrass1 says
Please, how can I download this video, not showing a download link on my UCbrowser or Opera mini
John Moffat says
You cannot download the lectures – they can only be watched online.
It is the only way that we can keep this website free of charge.

You should go to the main Paper F2 page – they are linked from there 馃檪

I cant find either. I have only 5 questions and not 6 and few of them are absolutely different. I am doing Chapter 4.
Thanks in advance.

Oops sorry – you are correct.
We used to have practice questions in the lecture notes themselves, but these have been removed and now there are online practice questions.
I forgot to re-record this lecture, and will do.

Are the F2 notes here sufficient for UK students, meaning I wouldn’t have to rely on other study providers materials to cover the syllabus?
John Moffat says
F2 is the same exam throughout the world.
Our lectures (together with the lecture notes) are a complete course for F2 and cover everything needed to pass the exam well.

Hi John !
above comment said that C is not from (O) .it is okay for me that difference with B & C . How about A ?
can you help me ?
John Moffat says
The same reasoning – the new line does not go through the origin.
Lao says
Hi sir, I wanna know what is the diference between graph B and D in question 5 chapter 4.
John Moffat says
In B, the new line goes through the origin (0), in D the new line does not go through the origin.
Because the new price applies to all units retrospectively (i.e. including units already sold), the answer has to be B.
(This was actually an old real exam question)
