For my exam, I would finish typing and the screen would still show I’m typing when I’m done. The worst part was the timer kept reducing but the software was delaying my typing and hence delaying me from completing the paper on time.
? ? Did anyone else face this? You should report this as a technical issue during your exam through your account in myACCA

Ciara, if you think you sat and submitted it satisfactorily yesterday, i.e. you do not think that you were withdrawn, this is advice from ACCA:
“Any student uncertain of why they have received a rebooking text message, or uncertain of the status of their exam script, should contact ACCA either by telephone +44 (0)141 582 2000 or via https://forms.accaglobal.com/contact-us
I suggest the contact-us

Finder is part of your computer’s operating system software – it isn’t something to download
December 10, 2020 at 10:50 am #599052After reading all such frustrating comments thanks God I didn’t enter for the remotely invigilated exams for December 2020. It would have been a waste of time and money.
I think it’s quite irresponsible by ACCA for not having any regard for the hardwork and money invested by the students.
Well what we can say covid-19 has impacted all of us directly or indirectly and ACCA is not immune.December 10, 2020 at 11:03 am #599053Very frustrating as I didn’t choose to sit the exam remotely, I originally booked to sit AAA in centre then was told all in centre exams in Watford had to be taken remotely, then for the software to fail twice meaning I couldn’t take my exam is unacceptable. Why am I being panelised because I was forced to take my exam remotely. Frustrating as my completion of ACCA & pay rises at work will be delayed through no fault of my own and the best the ACCA helpline can offer me is ‘We are very sorry that you have faced the technical issues, Kindly please rebook your exam as per the suitable dates avilable’. This is unacceptable.
December 10, 2020 at 11:49 am #599060I think ACCA are poorly run and organised. Service is bad and their response to changing times through the use of remote technology has damaged their brand. Ironic really given many of the subjects they teach detail how organisations and finance professionals can gain strategic advantage and respect from getting such things right. If they were a typical commercial organisation their customers would be leaving them for a competitor in droves!
However for many students a long way into the ACCA qualification this is not an option in reality. Also many employers require / support ACCA so theres not an option to go elsewhere.
My sense is that whilst the ACCA qualification is still sought after and valued highly – ACCA the ‘organisation’ are perceived really poorly by their customers!/ students. What makes it worse is that they often play down their shortcomings with the usual “we’re aware a small number of students experienced technical difficulties …..”. I just hope this time they acknowledge the significant distress caused for a large no. if students and ‘put their hands up’ to the fact that investment is needed to improve things.
December 10, 2020 at 11:54 am #599061Are you having your exams at home?
December 10, 2020 at 12:36 pm #599062bmurphy wrote:Shane, I see you were due to sit AAA in Ireland which was the same as myself. Have you heard any further or are we just expected to sit the exam in March? I selected the withdrawal option and they have credited my account. It’s completely unacceptable to me having used up my own leave and exam leave, not to mention the learning provider I used to sit the exam in December not 3 months later! To top it off the exam sounds as if it was quite favourable from what I can see!
I finally got in contact with ACCA today and I was told that there was an email sent to the affected students on Monday which I never received. Some people got to sit it on Tuesday but now it’s no longer possible apparently. Who did you do your course with if you don’t mind me asking?

December 10, 2020 at 1:31 pm #599082hi, I’m having problems logging in to my exams, keep getting a message saying that the software is already running a session, I should have started 15min ago ? help anyone?
December 10, 2020 at 1:36 pm #599083Have you checked-in? With picutures of the wotkstation and docs?
December 10, 2020 at 1:43 pm #599084After 9 mark question the connection was lost and resumed approx in 30-35 minutes, proctor did not load a chat. I had to sit in front of the screen enjoying recording of my face. Luckily, exam resumed and i finish almost everything on time. But have a bad feeling that i rashed it a bit due to the disruption. O well, hopfelly, they will vaccinate enough people to sit centre-based exam next time. What a reason to sit a remote exam in the area where 0-2 people tested positive daily?
December 10, 2020 at 4:37 pm #599124I wrote ACCA F8 exam on 7th December, after the timer for 3 hours got over. A screen with ACCA logo and ‘your exam has ended came’. I clicked on ‘exit’. After which another screen probably, ‘browerlock’ came which said closing browser. This screen got stuck. Now, my answers got submitted or not? I am so damm scared.
December 10, 2020 at 4:41 pm #599125@himanshua03 please see the advice I am giving to everyone – e.g. at the top of this page:

December 10, 2020 at 6:33 pm #599200When I logged in my acca, launch exam button is still active. I am pretty sure my SBR exam is submitted.
December 11, 2020 at 7:19 am #599333@Encaladeus – please read my post immediately above yours.
December 11, 2020 at 7:41 am #599336I did! It was really annoying it really reduced the answering time. I flagged up with the chat but no response. On top of that my exam was frozen for good few minutes had to shout at the screen. It was unfair process.
December 11, 2020 at 10:54 am #599393Try to reach the “my plan” in “myacca” through the “history” in your browser that helped me to login.
December 11, 2020 at 11:12 am #599397In a statement reproduced in PQ magazine, ACCA has further stated:
“We experienced two separate outages to myACCA – one on Sunday 6 December, and on Monday 7 December from 9.45 to 11.15am. We worked with our IT supplier to remedy these outages, and service has since been resumed.“We’re truly sorry about myACCA being unavailable at these times. We’ve been in contact with the students who were affected by this, and their employers/learning providers, to explain what happened and their next steps.
“We understand myACCA’s unavailability mostly impacted students sitting remote invigilation exams, including 227 sitting Audit and Assurance (AA) and 232 Advanced Audit and Assurance. We have since emailed AA students to say they can rebook for next week (14 December).
“For the others who are unable to rebook their RI exam, we have advised the next window is March 2021. We understand this will be disappointing and frustrating, and again we apologise profusely to students who are in this situation.”
