Hello, that’s a bit strange, perhaps you should send a query to members@accaglobal.com?

I finished my exams in June 2018, but applied for membership in the period you’re asking about. My application was received by ACCA on Feb 22 and by Feb 27 I received communication stating that my application had been approved.

I want to hop onto this thread now that it’s here rather than make a new one and let those responsible for this wonderful site to know how grateful I am. I still can’t believe a site like this exists..it’s truly amazing that such quality teaching and support is available for all students whether they are financially stable or otherwise.

I can honestly say this site has saved my thousands of dollars and I have used it as my core learning resource to learn each syllabus for each exam I took. I started my ACCA journey in September 2016 and now less than 2 years later, the lecturers on this site gave my the knowledge and material necessary to pass each exam I took on my first attempt- a testament to the quality found here!

I’ve sung this website’s praises to friends and colleagues and I most certainly will give a donation later this month (after payday lol) because this site deserves to exist into the future as a resource for students travelling this path.

So once more, to Mr. Moffat and the rest of the OpenTuition team – you all have my sincerest gratitude.

    -Jamil

57 on my first attempt. Easily the worst exam ever, but I am so thankful that I passed! Thanks so much to Mr.Garrett and congrats to everyone else.

Can you get them if you don’t have the March results email?

As @garriec said earilier, If you have the September 2017 email that came in October titled β€œACCA Examination Results (TEST)”, that works as well.

Also works if you got an email on Mon, 16 Oct 2017 titled “ACCA Examination Results (TEST)”.

Ah, now I was able to see them with this through gmail, thank you!! ACCA completed guys πŸ™‚ Got 75 in P7 and 57 in P5! P5 is easily my lowest paper but I am just overjoyed that I passed, I found it a very nerve wracking paper. Congratulations to everyone else who passed. I’ll thank the lecturers in the individual threads later once they results are “officially” released πŸ˜‰

This thread is moving so slow !

Which is quite refreshing, in my opinion! Much rather casual conversation with everyone calmly waiting than people panicking and getting heart palpitations, clicking every page on the ACCA site to prove some new nonsense theory πŸ™‚

The day will be here before we know it.

Hi all, I’m awaiting my results for P5 and P7 – both first attempts. I thought p7 went decently, but I’m a bit nervous for p5. I know this thread can tend to get a bit chaotic leading up to results day, especially with other finalists, so let me say now in the early: Good Luck to everyone! I hope we all get the result(s) we’d like to see :).

^Was just about to say that sounds more like Altman’s lol

I just realised that even though I know evaluate means weigh both the good and bad, the word usefulness in 3c made me think they only wanted benefits for some reason. Whoops..

I found the Value Chain question in Q1 iii difficult and Q1 ii hard as I just couldn’t think of anything that wasn’t there.

What did you guys put for Q4?

This was my issue as well. I did parts i and iv for the report but was so lost for what to put for ii and iii. I read the scenario many times hoping something would pop out lol, but nope.

I chose Q2 and 3. Based on other replies it looks like I did some stuff right, but I’m still nervous. In the end I went back to Q1 after and jot down some jumbled stuff for parts ii and iii that I was not happy with at all.

I suppose it could’ve been worse? I voted hard in the poll. The 2 papers I sat this week may be my last, P7 was good but this..blech. Will try to be as positive as possible and hope for that magic 50!

Reluctantly voted ok in the poll, wasn’t ridiculous and i feel decent-ish about it.

TIME. That was the worst part in this exam. I think i managed to at least touch everything however.

Did 4 & 5 as the options. Ran from the CSR part of Q3. But didn’t like the first part of q5. Still went for it anyway and gave it my best

For the benefit of persons who’ll want to know what came:
Q1: Business risks, ROMM, ethical issues due to financing advice and preparing cash flow forecast, Audit procedures for a provision
Q2 : Quality control, ethical and professional issues – new credit system during yr, FD only posted journal for half of the impairment, member of audit gave advice and was paid $600 by client
Q3: Something about CSR report and procedures KPIs? (someone that did this could clarify
Q4: Matters to consider and audit evidence – fair value of instruments, provision, inter-company sale
Q5: Discussion of benefits and difficulties of KAM and how it addresses the expectation gap (ugh) and critically appraise an audit report (which of course contained KAMs..)

Passed on my first attempt with 63. I really enjoyed this paper so I wish I could have done it a bit more justice but I am very pleased that I have the papers that will be changing later this year out of the way.

Thanks so much to Mr. Garrett!

The P papers continue to be brutal in terms of time. I did Qs 2&3. Neither were too bad, but because of time there were bits of all questions that I didn’t get to address which of course is disappointing.

I also flexed the budget in Q1 so i could refer to some variances. I got raw material variance as favourable though so compared to the other replies here..whoops O_O.

Unlike P1 I thought the questions were interesting, time is my only complaint. Really hope I pull through and good luck to everyone else who wrote.

Edit: @sonyam11 – I got that 20,000 favourable variance too!

Wowee, that was tough. I’m still hanging on to a bit of faith that I will do ok, but geez that exam was a gut punch for me. I always had zero intention of doing Q4, whatever it would turn out to be, but lo and behold, after browsing through the paper and seeing the terror inside, Q4 ended up being the first thing I attempted! Didn’t want to spend too long on questions though, so ended up hopping around. Never got back to discussing the cars for employees in the last part of Q4.

Ran away from Q3, fought with Q2. Knew the standards but it was tough applying them to question. Kinda expected Cash flows in Q1 but still didn’t want it lol. Tried my best for that and part c and made-up stuff for part b πŸ˜›

Praying that I made it though. Super tough, but I must say I tried my hardest. πŸ™‚

How do you people have time to memorize what your MCQ answers were?? I barely have enough time during the exam to read each requirement once lol

I felt so betrayed by the MCQs lol…after practising and doing well in the cases each time while studying, I was so shocked at how tricky and twisted the ones in the exam seemed.

Section B was fair though, so overall an ‘ok’ exam. I’m wondering if I’ll ever get the chance to ever say that an ACCA exam was easy lol

I thought the exam was pretty tough. The wordy MCQs were tricky and I felt I was guessing most of the time. Still though, I gave my best and will keep hoping and praying I get a decent result.
