Congratulations Chris, I got 81% in this paper back in 2015, as I mentioned bringing in your wider knowledge ensures those top marks.

Good luck with your next papers, P2 & P3?

Thanks Anon. I will be sitting P3 in March and P2 in June.

I was hoping for a slightly higher mark than this. It has shown me I cannot be complacent with any of the remaining papers. I think I didn’t apply my points back to the scenario enough on one of the questions and this may have cost me more marks than I thought. It would be nice if you could get your paper back and review it to see where you went wrong!

Good luck, P3 is wholly application based so you will need to apply the swot, bcg or whatever model it’s testing to the scenario & bring in some example(s) if you have the time to illustrate the point you’re making, remember to keep mentioning the Company in the question every few sentences.

P2 I loved, got an 84% in this, hopefully you’ll clear them all before the changes kick in from September.

What options are you planning to take, you know the choice of option questions in Section B is being withdrawn from September, I think it’ll be harder without that choice as one option question I had for my P6 exam was really too technical so ignored this, same with P4 & P7, so by removing that choice it’ll make it harder to score highly in one of the questions & pass rates may plummet but at least it stops question spotting & faffing around making that choice.

I am definitely going to take P4, I find financial management to be the most interesting area of the syllabus and also F9 was my highest mark from F4-F9.

The other option I haven’t decided. If I go by marks then it should be P5 as my F5 mark was higher than F6 or F8. Tax is quite a useful thing to know though. I can’t see myself going into audit in the future so it’s between P5 and P6.

I failed my first attempt for P1. What is worse is I recorded my lowest mark ever… 29 🙁 Can anyone encourage me with your success story that you achieved pass mark from super-low mark.

Passed first time with 51%. Absolutely shocked that it was such a marginal pass, I walked out of that exam confident that I had passed. Either way, just P6 left to sit in June and then I’m qualified!!!

Don’t be sad the paper is seems manageable, I was worry about my english, legibility – it was my first P exams

I started with 28% in June (after 4days present study), than move to 33% in September and Finally I passed in December 2017 with (far better) 61%

I have changed my writing from capital to handwriting

Unfortunately I failed P3 in December with 46% (I made it 24 hours after P1 so maybe I was too tired) but also for P3 is possible to attend lectures so I will repeated in March

    So you will do it

Please every one note that ACCA clearly explains the reasons of failure if someone fails between 45-49 marks it means there is lacking in exam technique, if someone fails with below 44 marks then the possible reason is that lack of knowledge. Please go to ACCA webiste and study the retake guides given in every paper exam resources section

    Thanks and Regards,

I scored a 72 in P1 in the December 2017 sitting! It was my first attempt. Curious to know if its the highest score in the UAE/Middle East.

I have changed my writing from capital to handwriting and use really excellent (and free) web lecture from Dino Kiritsis (StudySmart.gr) (5 x 2hours) it’s possible to find it through Google through “accaglobal P1 Dino”

He is excellent and shows IMHO the main points how to pass and, what is better, the entirely logic behind P1 and connection between topics

Unfortunately I failed P3 in December with 46% (I made it 24 hours after P1 so maybe I was too tired) but also for P3 is possible attend Dino lecture (excellent IMHO) so I will repeated in March
