March 20, 2024 at 12:09 pm #70321860% pass this morning, happy with that as I only started studying for it 4 weeks ago whilst working full time.
March 20, 2024 at 7:01 pm #703227Well done Jenny 🙂
March 22, 2024 at 6:18 pm #703311Greetings Tutor, Vikas this side, I hope you are doing well.
It’s been few weeks since the last time i posted a query on Ask the Tutor Forum. Because i was busy with my Revision. So i finally gave my exam yesterday (21 March 2024) and i secured 95%. I was literally not expecting this much, while i clicked on “Exit” Button i just told myself let’s just hope it’s above 80%.
Although I didn’t watch many of your videos on YouTube because I was taking classes from an Approved Learning Partner, studying the BPP Study Text, and also going through the ACCA study hub.
But I want to thank you for solving all the queries that I posted on the Ask the Tutor Forum. I don’t think any other tutor would have helped me the way you did, answering my every major to minor query. I would also like to thank the entire team of OpenTuition for providing such a great platform, and also for the Ask AI feature. 🙂
For anyone planning to take the F4 Law English Variant exam, I highly recommend attempting the OT Questions available on the ACCA Study Hub. Questions worth approximately 30 marks were nearly identical to those found on the Study Hub.”
Lastly I was planning to post about my accomplishment on LinkedIn and also mention about your contribution in my result. However, I couldn’t find your profile on the platform. I found profiles of other tutors like John Moffatt, but yours was nowhere to be found. If possible, could you share your LinkedIn profile with me?
March 22, 2024 at 9:05 pm #703314Vikas, that’s astonishing! Well done. Although I seem to have the feeling that I was not quite so instrumental in your success as you suggest! I quote ‘Although I didn’t watch many of your videos on YouTube …’
Linkedin? I don’t subscribe to that. Nor to Facebook. Nor, really, to any social media sites. OpenTuition is the closest I get 🙂
But your appreciation is sufficient for me and I am thrilled to have played some small part in your Law exam performance.
As for the future, I trust (and fully expect) that you will find all the OpenTuition tutors equally helpful and, if you can replicate your Law exam score in your remaining exams, then you should find prospective employers beating down your door to reach you with attractive employment offers.
It’s a GREAT score, well deserved, and a foretaste of what’s to come 🙂
Thank you for your kind words and thank you also for letting me share in your success
Best wishes
March 23, 2024 at 8:06 am #703318Greetings Tutor. Thankyou for your kind words and blessings. 🙂
Your contribution did played a pivotal role in my success, to the extent that my family often humorously jests that no teacher would willingly take on the multitude of queries and doubts I bring forth. It’s a testament to the depth and breadth of support you provided.
And i relied more on OpenTution Ask the Tutor Forum than my ALP, and also reviewd a lot of answers that you have given in past to students. Also i did watch your videos especially on complex topics like Volenti non fit injuria, Professional Negligence, Structure of Courts in England and Wales and many more.
I always prefer the videos of OpenTution when it comes to complex Topics, used to do the same even with my Skill Level Exams like PM and FR.
March 23, 2024 at 9:02 am #703320That’s good to know, Vikas. Again, many congratulations and all the best for you in the future
April 9, 2024 at 1:55 pm #703769Hi Mike, hope you are keeping well.
I unfortunately failed with a score of 47% in the ACCA LW-ENG exam. I have used the BPP kit and mock exams which gave me some confidence as i scored 70%+ on 5 mock exams and also 76% on the ACCA specimen. I’ve been through the Open Tuition practice questions for each chapter.
In the actual exam, the questions seemed very tricky and worded a lot different which I wasn’t expecting at all. I was probably taking twice as long to answer each question compared to usual.
I am thinking of resitting it again in a couple weeks. Is there anything else you could please recommend me to do?
Thanks for all your help Mike and for everything you do for us under OpenTuition!
Reagrds,
JayApril 9, 2024 at 5:31 pm #703775Jay, I’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t hit the 50%.
Realistically, you’re two questions away from being in the position where you can forget all about this topic and move on to lots of numerate stuff.
What can you do? In two weeks?
Are you able to identify any particular area (and don’t just say ‘Law’) where you were more at sea than in other areas? If so, get out your revision kit and hammer that area.
If not, and it’s a general disliking / lack of full understanding of the issues involved in this subject, then start working every (say) tenth question from within the revision kit. And when you come across an answer to a question where you fail to recognise the rationale behind the printed solution, then post the question to me on the Ask ACCA Tutor forum and ask me why your answer isn’t correct and why is the printed solution the correct answer.
Realistically, there’s no time to ‘start over’ so either target specific areas where you feel weak or go for the greater coverage by attempting every nth question. And do this until you feel that you cannot take any more. And then do more!
Safe in the knowledge that, once passed, this is the last time that you will be asked any of the minutiae that is expected knowledge for the law paper.
Come on Jay! There are many worse students than you that have passed this paper.
You can do it! And post any problems that you encounter to me and I’ll try to resolve them for you.
OK?
April 10, 2024 at 5:06 pm #703805Got 63% last week. Thanks for the materials to assist.
April 10, 2024 at 6:54 pm #703810Well done Daniel – onwards and upwards 🙂
September 2, 2024 at 6:42 pm #710659My God studying for this exam was dreary! Felt like my brain took nothing in! Thank you for OpenTuition lectures – at least they made it more interesting!
I read all material on ACCA Study Hub which was baffling on a first read through but then combined with OpenTuition lectures I started scoring between 50% and 70% in the BPP kit.
I scored 87 in the end on the actual exam!
I suggest starting with OpenTuition lectures for this one – just reading through this horrid material is too confusing.September 3, 2024 at 6:36 am #710676Mateja! How can you possibly say that this brilliant, stimulating, enthralling topic is ‘dreary’? It’s wall-to-wall FUN
87%! In a subject for which you found the studying such hard work! What on Earth are you going to score when you come across an exam that you find even just a little bit interesting?
Well done, Mateja 🙂 An impressive score, indeed. And I’m so happy to have been a small contributor to your success. Keep scoring marks like this and your ACCA journey will be complete in a commendably short time
