Passed 2nd attempt. Now affiliate, getting my life back. Both link theory and e-business theory worked for me on both attempts!

I truly hate this exam. When I opened the exam paper I was really happy because I had covered the topics and thought I had understood the scenarios quite well. However, I still found it so hard trying to understand some of the questions. I did keep reading them over and over again but was still not 100% clear what I needed to write in order to answer the questions…..
This is my second attempt and sadly I have a feeling I will have to keep retaking this exam no matter how hard I work?

Please can you delete my two earlier posts which had mentioned the theory links.
They only lead to anxiety and I am not going to rely on any of these theories from now on.Thank you.

I get the error message and on the e-business site, i can’t right click the change the passwork to check on the source page. I can’t seem to find the work affiliate anywhere so I think I have definitely failed.
Oh well, June session here I come.

Naomi, I also get an error message when logging on
I am gutted too because I actually thought I had done enough to pass, silly me, should have known ACCA better!!!Where did you see the one post that said they passed even though there was an error message when they logged onto the link? I really need some hope….. I don’t think I want to look at my text tomorrow night now.

I am a finalist and am really sad that I can’t see a tick box or the word ‘affiliate’ on the source page… but my surname starts with a W so do you think maybe ACCA hasn’t updated my result page yet? I thought I had done enough to pass but I am guessing from reading the above threads, that I haven’t and have therefore failed!:((
I agree with you completely on this. ABM/ABC was my weakest area and I was hoping it would not come up as a major part of the exam.
And then typical Sod’s law a whole 25 marks question!!?Thank you Ken. This confirms my thinking too.

I’m so annoyed with myself as this was my second sitting and I messed it up once again, due to panicking, even though this exam was very fair. I missed out on so many points because I dived into the calculations without explaining the theories eg the group loss relief question. I basically messed up every single question:(( I thought I had covered the syllabus quite well but in the exam itself, just couldn’t remember the easy stuff like the capital goods for vat and the CFC calculation etc
Guess I had better book my resit for March19, so frustrating..
Also, did not help that the exam hall was absolutely freezing!
I’m trying to forget my stupidity but think it will take a few more days…..Failed with 49%, absolutely gutted. My only consolation is that at least this exam is the most relevant for my job, hence maybe retaking it may not be so bad….yep, who am I kidding:)

Thank you very much for your reply Deborah. I will give myself more time to practise past exam questions. I am terrified of the optional papers but seeing your result and exam tips have given me inspirations.

I was so sure I had failed as I totally messed up Q1.Now, which 2 optional papers??
Any advice anyone?I thought it was a really fair paper but I still did badly – did not practise at all, so I deserve to fail. Better start revising properly for the March exam soon.

Glad to see I’m not the only one who had booked the wrong variant. I did panic for a short while as I’m already trying to master this beast P2 in 4 weeks, I really do not have time to read anything extra. However, have heard that the extra syllabus only takes a few hours to read, hence I am not panicking any more. It will be useful to know about FRS102 and 105 for work anyway….
Like you, I will book the Int variant in March 2018. Having just watched the Opentuition lectures on Hedging I don’t think I will have any chance of getting 50%, especially after taking 3 hours to do question 1 on a past paper. I guess this paper is very technical hence no chance of winging it like P1 or P3…
