Sorry for that, P5 was a tricky first attempt for me too as i felt i had done my best but got 42%. For this attempt i used the lecture videos on this forum a lot and put in a lot of question practise using past exam papers, and it worked.

Dont give up. put in twice as much question practice as usual, and if possible pay for a very good revision course.

Grateful. I took the bold step of faith and did the following
    P2 – 68%
    P3 – 60%
    P5 – 56%
    P7 – failed badly

All on first attempt, without tuition providers. Only BPP revision kit and open tuition notes.

Gamble paid off. Now I will do P7 in March and get this exam out of the way.

    Only God couldve helped me.

P7 60% and P5 49% 1st attempt both of them, i thought it will be the extremely opposite results.
Any advice for P5 exams in March? Thank you in advance

I find the key to success is to practice as many questions as possible. I use BPP study texts first, but never feel like I’ve learnt much from the first read through – it’s only when I start doing questions that I really learn anything.

Then I’ll also use OT lectures to help if I’m struggling to grasp a particular concept – they have been a massive help on these exams.

Also, read the ACCA technical articles – I always try to read as many as possible as they sometimes indicate topics which ACCA think are important, although that doesn’t mean they are guaranteed to come up in the exam!

I hope all this that weren’t successful this time pass next time – don’t give up!

    Hi Deborah

Congratulations on passing P5, you say you read the technical articles, did you read all of them as there are quite a few or pick the most recent?

    Thanks

Hi everyone! I failed P5 with 34% on first attempt, I did study a lot and practised past papers but not under timed conditions, so I will do that for my March sitting.

Please could those of who who passed P5 advise me and tell me HOW you practise past papers from start to finish? i.e. when you start doing a new ACCA paper and go through the theory, do you read the exam standard question and the answer and learn it by making it into a list of bullet points before you attempt it under timed conditions? Or do you try to answer it first in bullet points to see how you would approach it and then compare it to the answer? I don’t know where I went wrong apart from my time management.

Also, re time management in the exam, I wasted my time because of making answer plans. Did you guys do answer plans in your successful P5 sitting or did you start answering straight away?

Passed first time with 68%. Key to success is question practice. I have the Kaplan exam kit and I made sure I had completed every single question in there after 2010 (I believe this is when the examiner changed). Keep going everyone, this is a hard but doable paper!

I failed for the second time, I’ve gone from 40 to 42.

I am quitting P5 and moving to P7 in March. Don’t want to waste any more time on this pointless module. It’s basically an English examine disguised as performance management.

Good luck to those who will sit P5 in March, for those who are failing, don’t be afraid to make a change.

Never give up. Better to refer the examiner’s comments given for each exam Session & attempting past papers. Just give due attention to understand the purpose of P5 at this level.

It’s easy to say never give up but there are plenty of people who have done this paper over 5 times, it just isn’t worth the time and money. Pass rate of 29% this time round, it really isn’t worth the bother for me.
