39% First Attempt
April 17, 2018 at 2:47 pm #447761Untill official books and/or specimen exam is released by ACCA and Publishers, I would start now with the current topics/Lectures availabe for P2 as it won’t change, what will change is the structure of the exam – answer, but not the calculations and presentation of Consolidated Financial Statements as far as I know.
April 16, 2018 at 10:17 pm #447576Finally!!! Approved P4 (3rd attempt) with a 50!!!
March 9, 2018 at 9:08 pm #441919The exam was fair, the only problem… Bad time planning again… I cant get use to the strict time allocation and this was my third attempt
March 9, 2018 at 9:05 pm #441918I will recomend you to start now as P4 is the toughest exam you will sit for.
After finishing F9 I went for P4 sitting and failed twice. Today I resit for 3rd time and not sure wheter I will make it. The biggest issue here is the time planning in the exam.
The subject to cover is huge and not easy.
I will keep revising the subject until the release of results in case I need to resit. Let me know if you want me to help, as Im in the same situation as you, full time employed and stressed.
March 4, 2018 at 3:24 pm #440099mmm… I didnt know that. That’s why I found past papers in my Revision Kit from 04 to 2009 so complicated and so differente compared with 2015, 2016…
Thanks
August 29, 2017 at 1:35 pm #404054One of the most useful.
March 10, 2017 at 5:39 pm #377617Im 29, today I gave up after 10 minutes of P4 exam start. Im full time employee in Spain and for the exam sessions ive to travel to the UK so its double pressure.
Last attempt of P4 went well (I thought) and then I got a 49!!!! This time I was better prepared BUT three of the marginal topics left out due to time constraint (interest collara, reestructure of org., and dont remember the other) came over and represented the difference between approval or failure. As ssoon as I realised that I was not going anywhere I just stop writting and start thinking whether to continúe with the P level or Not. I’ve attempted P1 and P4 3 times on same sessions and that has been my error. I think I did well on wednesday with P1 but if I fail It, im gonna leave it.
F level went well for me, I only had 2 resits. I cant dominate the topics at 100% on time, even Im re sitting. Because as we know, the thing you study and underdtand 3 weeks previous to the exam day, its just forgotten and unless you revise It fully the 2 days before… You are not going to make many points in the exam.
So now, I’ll wait for P1 resulta, if I get another 40 close to 50, then I cannot sacrify my time anymore.
June 8, 2016 at 9:35 am #320760Thanks duc169 you are right, I should have planned it better. Working full-time I’ve not been able to prepare the exam well, but I’ve already paid the fee and travel cost.
I’ll from now on plan twice the hours of dedication compare to F level.
Best!
March 9, 2016 at 2:05 pm #304737What is considered “pervasive” in F8 exam? Becuase OT notes nor BPP Revision KIT provides any specific % which would be considered as the material misstatement being pervasive.
January 18, 2016 at 7:43 am #29556046… Second attempt. I need to prepare for it again.

Don’t panic !!!!!!!!!!Required:
(a) Explain FIVE potential indicators that Mercury Motoring Co is NOT a going concern.Unless I’m totally confused and would be very fool after 2 sits….
NOT a going concern: Means that the company is able to continue its operations in the foreseable future.
Going concern: Means that the company isn’t able to continue.
Isn’t it?
December 10, 2015 at 2:13 pm #290218I did the stupid mistake in my resitting F8 paper in confusing NOT going concern with going concern.
So I did elaborate a whole answer based in explaining why the eneity has a going concern problem instead of, as requeste by examiner, explainig why they do NOT have a going concern problem.
SHHHH….
November 1, 2015 at 8:31 pm #279982Opentuition notes are essential to me in this exam. It will help you to get the whole picture of the whole process of the audit in a couple weeks.
Once completed the OT Notes, go ahead with the past exams and any Revision Kit of recognised publisher (KAPLAN, BPP, etc…)
OT notes contain all you need to pass, but with a Revision Kit you will study “how to tackle an F8 exam”.
October 19, 2015 at 8:10 pm #277653I’d use the termonology being used in ACCA past papers answers.
October 19, 2015 at 9:35 am #277387Hey!! I’m really surprised. I did a very bad exam, and I already started the prearation for the re-sit and you know what?
53% Pass!!!!F9 was a disaster for me and I passed.
F8 I was confident on getting minimum 80 Marks and failed…FFFFFIUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!
September 17, 2015 at 10:57 am #272265Wow! D.O.A. Thank you so much. You completed in one reply the whole exam.
This would be helpful for all of us.
September 13, 2015 at 8:15 pm #271676Disaster. I’ll resit again on December.
August 1, 2015 at 1:12 pm #264355The problem with F8 is annoying because you study the whole syllabus and know the procedure, steps and definition, but enventhough… you have high chances to fail. And in my case I have professional experience where I led the audit of my company (being the direct contact with auditors from start to the finished audit report)!!
I think this time I’ll study only through Exam Kit Revision. Last time I prepared the whole Opentuition Lecture notes which are EXCELLENT, also studied the Technical Articles of ACCA and practice with past papers.
The revision kit focus more on how to approach the answer from examiner point of view and what wording should be used to explain the answer.
Let’s see what advice can give us those who achieved high marks.
Thanks!
August 1, 2015 at 12:37 pm #264338What? 45 Marks… failed. I was very happy when I finished the exam and so confident in getting arount 70 marks.
I’m shocked. But I’ll resit asap on Dec15. For Sep15 I’m studying for F9.
…Shi**!
December 6, 2014 at 4:04 pm #218925I didn’t prepare the timing…. I spent 1 hour in the first Q, en then split the remaining time in the other 4 Qs.
Was really hard this exam. I also cross my fingers! I didn’t had time enough to finish and revise nicely the questions.
I was really prepared in 90% of F6 topics…but the time killed me, too much presure. I never thought that it was going to be so hard the time factor. I’ll be very lucky if I get 50 Marks.
Anyway, I want to thanks Opentuition, which gave me the chance to prepare the exam in 3 months. The videolectures are the most useful tool ever created for ACCA students. I bought KAPLAN F6 book and only opened it once, I can’t read 1.000 pages with 500000 examples, some people do not have that time (I work full time).
Bffff….
November 25, 2011 at 2:57 pm #90130Thank you very much ansi!
November 24, 2011 at 6:36 pm #90128How important are these tips?
