q1 – Budgeting for Car Sales
q2 – transfer pricing
q3 – BSCQ3 A lot of people had this exam. BSC question was really tricky, first part of the requirement really caught me out which I’m annoyed about.
Q1 I didn’t finish my report, I just moved on to the next question to stick to my timings as closely as possible.
Q2 Transfer Pricing, I took a purely common sense approach to this question, so who knows.Very, very frustrating by this exam now, it’s purely how quick can you write points that may or may not score marks. Exam technique or whatever you want to call it, I’m finding little use for this exam in real life after resitting again and again. It feels like a money spinner for ACCA sometimes…
September 9, 2021 at 1:01 pm #635090I had the same – 3rd time sitting and this was my lucky exam but well aware, I didn’t have time to go into the required depth on Q3, so pretty sure I’ve flunked the exam yet again….real shame, back the drawing board me thinks!
June 9, 2021 at 6:24 pm #624235Problem with the performance pyramid Q was the length of it. I attempted it last and just found it such a lengthy question to complete.
The indicators required for the pyramid was simply ridiculous to compile for 12 marks of the exam! Annoyed me a lot and ended up writing waffle in the final 10mins. Very tough exam
December 7, 2020 at 10:34 am #598012This is insane – I cant access CBE practice portal or my account. Support line is simply switched off. Surely they were expecting this level of traffic this week?!
September 10, 2020 at 12:39 pm #584680Make a start on it now – it took me 6 weeks or so to get through the basics. Only left me with 2 weeks of past exam practice which isn’t enough to cover all the various bits of tax.
It’s not as complex as you might think, just requires coverage but also depth of knowledge which makes it such a tough paper…September 9, 2020 at 10:01 am #584329You must’ve been a couple of desks away from me in Southampton!
I nasty experience in general and yes, I did notice that poor girl having a melt down – the hardware was appalling – not enough real estate on the screen and I dread to think how much time I wasted trying to format, copy paste, highlight with that mouse – I gave up on the second question and tried to plough through.
Failed exam as little or no attempt at 4th question – bit of a shame but such is the exam!September 8, 2020 at 3:10 pm #584119Who are the 4 clowns that found it easy then?
December 5, 2019 at 6:15 pm #555195I think i increased my deferred tax figure based on the fv movements at year end x tax rate of 20% i.e. additional asset = additional tax liability.
That was one tough exam though – everything felt very answerable once the scenario had been digested but wow, time pressured beyond belief! Missed the final 6 marks in Q4 which i’m gutted about…
March 5, 2019 at 4:00 pm #507801Time pressured and I could feel myself missing out on many marks as it was tricky but to be expected.
Q1 was tough – Corp Tax threw me a bit. The comp seemed very easy but couldn’t make connection between the group structure as no numbers provided.
Doubt I’ve passed this badboy…
December 7, 2017 at 4:54 pm #421645Unbelievably time pressured – missed the final 10 marks of question 4.
A lot of easy marks in question 1 case study, too much to write but I found the requirements flowed into one another nicely which made the thought process a lot more manageable.
Question 2 was nice – not a big fan of the legal outsource element though. My answer felt very generalised if anything.
Not a fan of Cultural Web in Q4 as too much of it crosses over and missed the final 10 marks. Just hope they find 50 marks in all over the god damn writing!!

Found this great video on EPS! Big help!
June 11, 2012 at 2:58 pm #99413I think I made the assumption that TQM overrules any kind of standard costing principles. As the std cost card does not apply they can produce high end products disregarding the cost element with the aim of appealing to the high quality market…
June 11, 2012 at 1:14 pm #99360Terrible exam….not seasonal variation before 🙁 December re-sits….here I come!!!
February 21, 2011 at 11:43 am #7758035% – absolutely crushing!
I don’t understand how I got such a poor mark…
