Why did u do D???June 6, 2015 at 8:44 am #254347Sam, what was the first mcq about? Yeah, i also got loan note 96
June 6, 2015 at 8:44 am #254349That was for if thee nominal value of the shares was 1 dollar but they gave it as 50cents
June 6, 2015 at 8:44 am #254350Mcq 20 was A
June 6, 2015 at 8:45 am #254351Mcq 19 was D
June 6, 2015 at 8:45 am #254352Q1 about the government. Fiscal policy and stuff
I knew statement 2 was correct
But other 2 I guessed it and said all of em are correct
June 6, 2015 at 8:45 am #254353I think first mcq was A, second mcq was D
June 6, 2015 at 8:46 am #254354Sam, in first question statements 1 and 3 were wrong, only second statement was correct
June 6, 2015 at 8:47 am #254355Sam, what was your answer on borrower buying futures? On money market deposit definition? On beta of debt?
June 6, 2015 at 8:47 am #254356Ow I see. Well just guessed it.
And out down D
June 6, 2015 at 8:48 am #254358Yeah that one buying at futures and selling at futures that statement was wrong
June 6, 2015 at 8:49 am #254359Beta of debt? I think it was the first statement was wrong about the financial risk
June 6, 2015 at 8:50 am #254360Yeah, do you also agree that factoring improves efficiency of receivables management? Also there was a point when they said that expected net present values are calculated for the project ONCE, i think that one was also wrong
June 6, 2015 at 8:51 am #254361Sam, i think beta of debt was the last statament in that question, two of them were correct, but this one i marked as wrong
June 6, 2015 at 8:52 am #254362Yeah about efficency was correct
Well wherever the beta statement was it was wrong and the other 2 option were correct
June 6, 2015 at 8:55 am #254365Sam, agree bro! Finally, what about money market deposit definition? It was strange, wasnt it?
June 6, 2015 at 8:58 am #254369I didn’t pick up on that.
Mcqs were terrible for me.
I need to get at least 12 mcqs right iterwose resit in December.
Holiday in September 😉
Anyways m going to revise for other papers.
F9 is history can’t change it.June 6, 2015 at 9:09 am #254371Am I the only person who got the Money market hedge to be better in question 1, since they’d receive more in dollars with it?
As they were receiving, the borrowing in Euros would be on the RHS of the money market horseshoe workings.
I may have just messed up the Forward workings and accidentally used the Spot rate or something.
Can anyone remember the figures in Q1?
June 6, 2015 at 9:10 am #254372Been trying to remember the MCQs in total so have a list (in the wrong order I know) so maybe it might jog some memories about the missing ones?
1. The FX one – know I got that one wrong as I just couldn’t get me head around it unfortunately.
2. Markets – three options, the middle one about operating efficiency? Think I said 1 and 3 were right and that was wrong – this is one of my ‘unsure’ ones.
3. Growth – options on mean growth, payout ratios etc – chose D – 6% mean growth.
4. Baumol – can’t remember the number but think it was straightforward (interest rate was net)
5. MV Convertible Debt – $96 ish – not sure exact figure but think ok on that one.
6. WACC – again can’t remember costs but was straightforward.
7. IRR – at 15% and 20% – answer was 17 point something
8. Payback – can’t remember question but think was straighforward
9. Yield Curve – downwards when rates expected to fall – true, market seg. theory explains kinks – true, real returns explains upwards slope – true.
10. Borrowers sell futures – can’t remember rest of options on that one.
11. Intermediaries – think all are
12. Risk – asset beta includes financial risk – no, total risk is sum of sys/unsys – yes, assuming beta debt = zero underestimates – said no – last one strangely worded – one of those horrible ones where you doubt yourself.
13. TSR in Year 3 – think that was okay unless made a mistake due to being depressed by then by all the theory ones.
14. Something about ROCE? Vaguely remember an option about Return on Equity which was wrong
15. Net Assets value – can’t remember figure but I had total assets less current and long terms liabilities – though now hoping didn’t miss any preference shares by reading too quick?
16. Something about treasury bills – can’t remember the optionsThat’s all I can remember – if anyone can fill in the missing ones or remember the options for the wordy ones that would be great!

Can’t remember exact figures but roughly $310k ish under both options with the forward hedge being around $970 more than the money market hedge.
