Oh yeah, I also talked about no dilution of ownership(existing shareholders taking up the shares)

It was for 5 marks. Hope I at least get a 3.

-a internal form of raising funds/capital.
    -Offered to existing shareholders.
    -Offered at a discount.
-it is a “right” to the existing S/Hs and a form of reward? Thus scrip dividend? not sure about this one..
-Lastly I talked about the issuing costs-might be cheaper or expensive. It depends to what it is compared.

The more I read answers here, the more I doubt that I sat for same F9 paper…..I felt more confident for my 4th attempt but now its seem’s that I’ll rather prepare for a 5th round. Fed up with this paper, when gonna move to P’s level πŸ™

Do not lose hope..I found the paper tough and it is my first sitting. I had no idea what I was doing-totally clueless throughout the exam. The MCQS were not fair at all. Plus we do not get any point for workings but only final answers which is a huge bummer..

I just hope they are lenient while correcting the papers. This paper was totally different from previous F9 papers..nothing about it was straightforward. They made it hard for non-native english speakers like me..

The MCQS in section A AND section B were both tricky and hard to even guess! Wasted so much time doing the MCQS and at last, not getting the correct answer! I hope they are lenient while correcting our papers. It was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for me. I practised all questions thrice and I was so confident, specially about the MCQs.

Section C was ok but for ques 31. WACC : what the hell was the rate 4% or sth on treasury bills? Is it risk free interest? I don’t know. No clue. WACC I got 10.1? I cannot remember.

Ques32. NPV was Positive at 2238k?2278k? cannot remember! Theory parts were not too bad. Wrote whatever I could remember as I was totally confused and upset by that time.

    Section C questions :

(2.) This one started with a 2 marks theory question on why it was not better to use previous years profit to relief loss? I am not sure what I was supposed to write.

Then we had to calculate Employment income or was it income tax if I am not mistaken? Capital allowance had to be calculated here. Or was it another question? I do not know anymore.

Then there was a question on loss relief again. I think my answer was Β£65k. I barely remember it.

There was one more thoery question which I don’t remember.

Edit: I now remember, it was about the accounting period/Tax year being 1 April.

I wrote : easier tax planning as it is same as Tax year,
easy to plan pension scheme? eh, I wrote whatever I could remember..

    Section C questions :

(1.) We were supposed to calculate the Taxable income, NIC contribution and Corporation tax Before and after the Decision of taking Salary and dividends of Β£8000?

    All I remember is:
At some point, there is no corporation tax to pay and also the NIC is Nil.

Although I worked out specimen paper september 2016, I still found it difficult to understand the requirement of the question and hence, wasted time on this one.

(3.) The last question was essentially on Corporation tax/Company.

    We had to calculate:
    Taxable total profits?
    Tax adjusted trading loss?

I panicked when I saw operating loss in one question. I correctly started to add back : depreciation , amortisation etc then I do not know what happened! I crossed out my answer and it was during the last 10 minutes. I quickly started to write rubbish and end up deducting depreciation, amortisation and the expenses! DAAMN. WHYYYYYY
I thought that it was a trick question and I was supposed to do the reversal of what we should normally do. The term ‘operating loss’ confused me and hence, I messed up.

    πŸ™ Now, I am worried.

    Does anyone remember:

    1. Section B Inheritance Tax question –

1st ques was : What is Nil Rate Band available? What was the correct answer? I suppose it’s not Β£390k (20% of Β£325000+ Β£325000)?

For the 2nd one, we had to calculate deductions for the chargeable estate and if I am not wrong we exclude only the “verbal promise to pay..” amount?

The next IHT ques was about: Who is responsible to pay for IHT and By which date?
Was it the “Personal representatives, and the date is supposed to be end of month(that is 30th of Sth)after 6 month period of the death?

The last 2 questions were about tax savings on IHT and I screwed up. So, I dont remember the answers.

    2. Section B Capital gains tax

    Again , screwed up.

    3. Section B VAT

1st ques was: Date to notify and register for VAT.

    2nd: Output Vat
    3rd: Input Vat

4th: Date to pay for VAT- was it 1 month+ 7 days? I think 7th May?

5th: I cannot remember the question.

    Hi, I used $14 too.

But ran out of time and couldn’t really complete the question. I am pretty sure $14 is the correct amount to use.

Hey, stop worrying so much. Take deep breaths and hope for the best. Even if you couldn’t pass, its definitely not the end of the world. Stop making assumptions and instead plan for the future πŸ™‚
Only a few hours left, not much..Everyone must be feeling so nervous right now. The wait is insane. I hope I don’t get disappointed like last time..You guys have only 1 or 2 papers left to do but I’m still new. I had F5 and F6 again as I failed last time (39 and 31 respectively) and also had F7 this time. That was a bad move of mine doing 3 papers. Can someone please guide me? Suppose I don’t pass any of the papers, shall I do just one in March? If yes, which one shall I do? F5 or F6? ( I am planning to do F7 in June) HELP PLEASE.
