Ok please. 90%+ of the people said it said standard Cost. I guess you and the other minority saw rate. Maybe you had a different paper. Best of luck on the results

similar question can be found in kaplan chapter 10 test your understanding 10. THERE IS NO NEED TO DIVIDE IT BY 3 AS IT WAS STATED IN THE QUESTION THAT THE STANDARD RATE PER HOUR IS 42. if not then how come when i finished with the operational and planning variance they added up to the labour rate and efficiency variance in A?

My operational and planning variances added up to the variances in part A, and I used an hourly rate of $14. So I don’t think you can come to the conclusion that your answer is correct on this basis alone.

We were not sharing ideas. You were saying I was wrong. Even used caps. I am just showing the white flag and stating may the results be in your favour. I know I saw cost you are sure you saw rate.

Standard cost 42, each takes 3hours of labour. Therefore, 14 an hour rate.

I remember that I overran my time slightly on this questiom because I was trying to perfect my figures, with it being a big mark question and the written parts having to refer to the figures.

I checked the scenario and my figures more than once, and I’m very sure that the $42 was the standard cost for 3 hours work to make 1 unit of gloves. So my $14 rate per hour answer, is what I was confident with.

Whoever is right or wrong in this case, I’m sure we will all get marks for at least showing the right technique/formulas and the overall analysis.

    Hi, I used $14 too.

But ran out of time and couldn’t really complete the question. I am pretty sure $14 is the correct amount to use.

In question no 5 only overtime hours to be calculated. What I understand in question 5 is, only the overtime labours taken moretime so I calculated the overtime hours and multipled by overtime labour rate,
