So i was able to book my MCS exam at 3 am on 4th of nov which is like 9 pm of 3rd nov 2020 of UK time, ( 12 am of 3rd nov 2020 was the deadline for mcs booking.Rather than 48 hours it took around 51 hours from when i finished my exam to update on myCima.
Secondly you have to contact your local cima office at the day you give your exam or EARLIER with your cima contact ID(as they take 4-5 days to respond), if you are close to such deadline of case study exams, MY local cima support had taken a special approval in case i wasnt able to book my exam on own. Make sure you do this like early so they can arrange you such special approval. e.g. if you plan for the exam on 10th and deadline is on 12th and today is 1st, Email cima local office and cima uk saying that the results wont be updated on time on 12th with your contact id, They may give you such special approval.

December 10, 2019 at 3:02 pm #555611Hello,
Earlier in 2015 syllabus OCS exams we were required eg.
Technical skills – 64%
Business skills – 16%
People skills – 14%
Leadership skills – 6%
Now as i read the blue print we are required to just get score of 80 out of 150
My question is will we still require to score 1/3 in each of these skills along with scaled score for the new 2020 feb ocs exam ?.there are the following outcomes in 2019 blueprint-
The six core activities are:
A. Prepare costing information for different purposes to meet the needs of management. B. Prepare budget information and assess its use for planning and control purposes.
C. Analyse performance using financial and non financial information.
D. Apply relevant financial reporting standards and corporate governance, ethical and tax principles.
E. Prepare information to support short-term decision-making.
F. Prepare information to manage working capital. Now the blueprint says-
Marking, grading and feedback
The Case Study Examinations are human marked.
The Case Study results will contain the following information:
w Grade: Pass or fail w Scaled score: 0 to 150 with 80 and above being a pass
There is no requirement to obtain a pass or meet a minimum threshold for each core activity.
Feedback on performance against each core activity will be provided so that learners know their areas of weakness for further studySo overall as per my understanding will i be just required to score 80 out of 150 to pass the exam? Can you please confirm this with relevant Cima authority.
December 10, 2019 at 3:01 pm #555609Are u doing it for Cima or job purpose?
December 3, 2019 at 10:34 am #554612November 15, 2019 at 2:16 pm #552713Guys i alsp passed my P1 Exam in first attempt! I started to study on 15th Oct and cleared the P1 exam on 12th Nov. 27 days total
14 days to completed whole p1 kaplan book.
2 days for kaplan practice kit,
4 days revision of all chapters
1 day for Cima aptitude test 2, Failed at first 65%, 2nd attempt passed with 73%, 3rd attempt 95%.
Again 3 days revision of study text and solving all the questions which i did wrong in Cima apt and kaplan kit!November 15, 2019 at 2:07 pm #552712check the email on cima websites for exceptions and mail them your transcripts,
November 15, 2019 at 2:05 pm #552711What level are you starting in?
As per my experience
Kaplan books are standard materials which covers all exam topics which get u passed
while BPP are more detailed books which may contain topics syllabus even which is removed.October 27, 2019 at 2:54 am #550923I had this same doubt! thanks a lot for answering it, crystal clear answer!
October 27, 2019 at 2:49 am #55092254500 oH absorbed? your questions look ambiguous.
October 27, 2019 at 2:33 am #550921Further to the answer:
The absorption of overheads doesn’t help to decide if we process such product or not. The amount of overheads to be absorbed by the particular cost unit (By-product) might alter as result of companies policy of allocation; However this is merely the result of company’ s cost accounting procedures for overheads. This overhead cost will be incurred even if we do not process such by product further. Hence we can conclude that the absorbed cost of 150k is non relevant cost and should not be used for the decision to further process the by product.October 27, 2019 at 2:23 am #550920@kyanda Accoding to the new syllabus we can treat the revenue from by products in two ways.
1) The proceeds from the sale of by-product may be treated as pure profit OR
2) The proceeds from sales, less any handling and selling expenses, may be used to reduce the cost of the main products. While as your case suggest if by-product needs further processing such cost should be deducted in arriving the net revenue. So to solve your problem they suggest us to check if there is contribution margin generated by the JP.
Solution:
The contribution/Net revenue form Jp is
300k-175k=125k
Here we can see that the By product has 125k contribution towards the Fixed cost and profit. Hence the production of such product should be continued.
If we stop producing such product we will lose 125k contribution toward the FC and profits.October 7, 2019 at 3:37 pm #548303Kaplan exam kit i mean, and aptitude test 2 i ll buy.
October 7, 2019 at 3:36 pm #548302Hello Sopia,
whats the best way to clear concepts of P1.
regarding the questions in study material of kaplan, are those questions enough for practice?
i wanna start P1 by making notes in two parts.
1st as with the concepts of chapters and
2nd notes for the sums
did you practice any other sums apart from kaplan study text?
Even i ll buy the aptitude test of cima and i have already bought the cima practice text.October 7, 2019 at 1:57 pm #548289You can also ask this in tutor forum for prompt response from teachers but i will check this out and get back to you. yours fellow

Thanks a lot for reply. In my e1 Kaplan book basically after every chapter it has 1 or 2 case study questions. I was thinking to solve them right now when my knowledge was fresh for that particular topic.

August 23, 2019 at 5:03 pm #528547Also sir i wanted to ask How should i prepare for my OCS exams while studying for E1. OR should i focus on E1 first and later on prepare for my case study exam.
August 22, 2019 at 2:22 pm #528417Thanks a lot! @sopia can u also answer me regarding OCS EXAM practice?
My questions to you are :-
1) Can you let me know if my appoach is correct for OCS exam?
OR should i study for case study when i am studying for Objectives exams?
2) Is time allotted for such previous year variants enough? (2 days study preseen and 5
days for each papers?)August 21, 2019 at 8:16 am #528311Hello Sophia can u tell me exact dates it took for your E1,P1,F1 exams? I am planing for 14th feb 2020 OCS exams but i need to complete My E1, P1 and F1 exams before 10th december 2019. I am trying to save Dec, jan and !4 days of feb for OCS as i have never done such Computerized written exam. I dont have good typing speed and my english isnt good.
Today is 21st aug where i have started studying for E1and goona attempt it on 2nd sept.(10 days, or 15 days if i really cant)
then attempt F1 on 15th Oct (45 days total)
then go for P1 on 6th december (50 days total)then Comes OCS i wanna study the last years (4exams*5 varaints) 20 variant and write them to increase my typing speed as well as thinking process to apply Concepts with pre seen material. Whole 4 weeks for it (2 days study preseen and attempt to answer the 5 varaints in next 5 days) So will happen till jan 15th. On each day after 3 hours exam i will look at topics which went wrong and study them and will write a correct answers to them in 10 Mins (writing time for OCS)
And then i will study the pre seen for my OCS for 4-5 days and try to apply such Frequent questions for these till jan 30.
Last 14 days till Fev 14 i will Go and revise all F1,P1 and important topics from E1 for OCS.My questions to you are :-
1) Can you let me know if my appoach is correct for OCS exam?
OR should i study for case study when i am studying for Objectives exams?
2) Is time allotted for such previous year variants enough? (2 days study preseen and 5
days for each papers?)
3) According to me Allowing 50-45 days for F1 and P1 will be good for clear concept and lot of Practice kits. Is that right?
4) i am trying to complete E1 quickly (10 days, max 15 days if i cant) so that i have good time for F1 and P1 and the Big Ocs exams which i have no experience in. So what do u think or should take more time for E1? - AuthorPosts
