    Cleared with 50% and now an ACCA Affiliate – Big thanks to Open Tuition.

    Key takeaway from my study experience –
    Exam approach is equally important along with your study and practice. Also understand and apply the tricks to gain (easy) professional marks in each questions.

    Good Luck for all the future ACCA Affiliates. Do well 🙂

    Hi, Pls press shift button first and then press x3 button, then enter .343 and press = (equal sign). I’m referring to Casio calculator. But I guess this could the same/similar option in other calculators.

    Hi there, I do use Casio (FX-82MS model). Suppose if you need log for 75%, then press –

    log (0.75)/log(2) >>>> Press = (equal sign) to get the result -0.415037499.

    Hope this helps you!

    Total cost = Fixed cost + Variable cost

    1. 23600 = 1.4FC + 1200VC (High level activity)
    1.4FC = 23600 – 1200VC
    FC = (23600 – 1200VC)/1.4

    2. 16400 = FC + 800VC (Low level activity)
    FC = 16400 – 800VC

    Simplified equation —–

    23600-1200VC/1.4 = 16400-800VC
    23600-1200VC = (16400-800VC)*1.4

    23600-1200VC=22960-1120VC

    1200VC-1120VC = 23600-22960
    80VC = 640
    VC = 8

    First unit 12.5 (r)
    8 units 34.3 (r3)

    34.3 = 8(12.5r3)

    12.5r3 = 34.3/8= 4.2875

    r3 = 4.2875/12.5 = 0.343

    r = 0.70 or 70%
    (Pls use shift, then x3, then enter 0.343 and = in scientific calculator to arrive r value) I’m using Casio fx-82MS.
