Hi,
I am working through Kaplan exam kit and i am unsure on the following and how to work out on scientific Calculator as answer suggests using “R”:
The first phase of production has now been completed for the new car seat the first unit actually took 12.5 hours to make and the total time for the first eight units was 34.3 hours, at which point the learning effect came to an end. Chair co are planning on adjusting the price to reflect the actual time it took to complete the eighth unit.
What was the actual rate of learning which occurred ?
Please cab you help me with this?
Thank you for providing us with you lectures they really do help and i am very grateful
First unit 12.5 (r)
8 units 34.3 (r3)
34.3 = 8(12.5r3)
12.5r3 = 34.3/8= 4.2875
r3 = 4.2875/12.5 = 0.343
r = 0.70 or 70%
(Pls use shift, then x3, then enter 0.343 and = in scientific calculator to arrive r value) I’m using Casio fx-82MS.
Thank you 🙂
