July 26, 2017 at 4:12 pm #398863Hi Fiona
Thanks for responding… still no sign of mine either. But got a feeling it’s a matter of days π there’s a hope !!
Spoke to ACCA today – was told cert was deffo prepared and signed but couldn’t tell me where exactly it is cos once they’re sealed they pass it on to outsourcing partner who then send the certs & welcome packs out.
otherwise the guy was very helpful if i don’t get it or if it gets lost in post they would cancel it so no one else can use it and re issue with a new number!

July 20, 2017 at 1:31 pm #397785That sounds dodgy I’ve never had any calls from ACCA
it’s funny how they can’t tell you anything until you confirm your detail but when asked to send an email hung-up with a silly excuse! she phoned you so she’s supposed to tell who she is and what’s it regarding………. my be some tuition provider trying to sell off a course or something pretending to be ACCA partner or something……. wonder how she got your number though…… these people really do scare me…
I would’ve done the same – reporting it to ACCA.
You better not to click on any email from unknown addresses!
Did you google the number to see if any negative comments for it ?

January 19, 2017 at 2:32 pm #368330Hi tamartephi
Aw bless you ! Time pressure is an evil & my worst enemy too π
Just a thought have you tried doing the section B first or at least leaving the sec A Q1 last to attempt? that trick worked for me after failing p2 4 times my worst of time pressures…
I was very time conscious & moving quicker through other questions as I had yet to attempt the most important question Q1.
Just a thought ! You might’ve already tried it …I love your spirit of never giving up! Keep going all the bestest of the bestest of the best luck for next time π
Best regards
LanaJanuary 18, 2017 at 12:42 am #368048I’m very sorry to hear you had to go through this 9 times… please keep going march could be your lucky month!
I don’t think i’m gonna suggest anything new that you don’t already know but just a few things that i found helpful after failing P7 first time with 47 in september. I must admit i’m not a big fan of p7 just for the fact i’m not great at remembering theories / notes in great detail nor do i have a very professional logical approach to discursive questions (which i’m not proud of ) which is a key to this paper me thinks if not all prof level papers.
(please note – I chose to do international paper nonetheless the techniues might still be suitable)as you’ve done it few time i assume you have a good knowledge of syllabus area
– knowing applicable auditing standards in their order helped me in understanding the audit process (which many people think is not much important so did I in my first attempt but soon realised it was mistake)
– having a good knowledge and the ability to apply accountng standards (refresh your P2 knowledge you defo need it for sec A Q2 & sec B. ie lease , impairement , goodwill, financial instruments etc… p7 syllabus gives guidance on important areas to cover
– make sure you have the basic understanding of audit process start to finish. review f8 if necessary.
– I used BPP but i’m sure your tuition provider (if you use one) will have a good collecion of question practice. if you dont have one it might not be a bad idea to get one……..
( as you’ve gone through the notes so many time consider using major part of your time left for question practice)– at first write down your answers no right or wrong it doesn’t matter just write it down , taking mental notes won’t work… write them down
compare with answer provided if you’re lost , review your study notes in that area.– then do some Q pract. to time LEARN TO STICK TO TIME PLEASE! you might be good at it but i wasn’t ..i’m not & will never be !!
– writing it down will really help you in sharpening your professional tone..
– do as much past papers as you could get – strictly to time. use the marking scheme, correct it yourself honestly truely. marking scheme is wise guide i only discovered it not that long ago..
i get over exited & carried away explaining things which might only be worth for a mark or two … marking scheme helped in over coming this issue.– read examiners report at least for the last exam.. read last few technical articles .. give importance to new syllabus area or changes in standard.
( i read Tech. art. day before exam n there was a question set in the related subject.. KAM )– in exam please please stick to time …. i felt like such an idiot at the end of exam. i spent too much time on Q1 in a 10 mark section in partcular which i wasn’t even sure if i was writing the correct answer… and i lost a full 20 mark question !!!!!!!!!!! ran out of time especially it was an area i was very comfortable with i was cursing myself till i got my results i have no idea how did it pass it !!
can’t think of anything else…… hope these help???
very best luck next time……. you can do it if i can !!
regards
LJanuary 16, 2017 at 12:56 pm #367560Congrats all !
Passed second time I’m all done now an affiliate!
If this wasn’t your time then better luck next time anyone can do it if I can!
Do loads of practice questions. Knowing ISAs might not be very important but it helps.
Don’t be lazy write your answers down doesn’t matter if it’s not the right answer. Compare it with answer provided. Please don’t make the mistake of taking mind notes of answers cos you can’t be bothered to write it down ( as I sometimes did in my first attempt)
Writing it down helped me delevop a professional writing method every time you get better at explaining something better you start to think different aspects of situation and find the significant ones that would award you highest marks. Don’t ignore marking scheme when practicing past papers they are there to guide us you’ll see what’s most important in each question by looking at them. Check whether you’ve made the same points as required to gain the marks.
Read technical articals , I read about key audit matters just the day before exam & if you remember there was a question I was so pleased.
So yea loads of practice !!!!
Best of luck next time ?

I didn’t get my results.
I am yet to pay my annual dues. Would that why?
Thanks for replyingIt could be but it’s only January now not releasing results cos you haven’t paid subscription seems a bit harsh & I doubt they would do such thing… Contact ACCA just in case did you check online ?
January 16, 2017 at 12:16 pm #367531Congrats all who have passed!
Those who haven’t I’m really sorry to hear it must be really hard but please hang in there you’re so close to final destination than you think.
May be next time is yours!Start studying sometimes this week, just do some question practice before you start the full course. See how much of the rules you can remember & allocate time to study / revise based on it.
Allocate at least 50% time available from now on for question & past paper practices. If you’re clueless about a question , don’t look at answer go through the notes find the relevant section read through what you needed to know but you didn’t to attempt that question and then find the answer to the question yourself or at least get closer to it.
This is my personal way of studying / practicing it might not suit everyone. The very best of luck !

Ps I’ve passed first time with 58% btw didn’t think I would though as I more or less completely missed a 20 mark question.whatever you do please please stick to time try attempt all question pls don’t dwell on Q1, I felt such an idiot as the question I didn’t have time to attempt seemed lot easier or at least an area I was comfortable with.. was so gutted wanted to bang my head on wall. Would’ve done so today if I failed it.

October 19, 2016 at 12:53 pm #344969Hi
Apologies , i sat international paper so had noted as INT but just checked the book it says International & UK. so i doubt there’ll be another one!
The only thing though.. although it says INT & UK, i found that the comparison of IFRS to UK in this book was minimal (or I wasn’t paying too much attention). If you’re doing UK you’ll have to do bit of research I can vaguely remember ACCA website has some sort of chart or an article on this that might help.
In terms of exam if i can rightly remember everything else is the same in both variants apart from 2nd part of Q1 which is for roughly about 15 marks (could be wrong). this asks about UK gaap treatment for certain scenario / accounting issue.
i did UK first time but i struggled in this area not knowing where to find the info i need so had been ignorant thinking it’s only 15 marks only to fail that exam cos you can’t just ignore 15 marks!! then i jumped to int.
So please do loads of past paper on this question & see if BPP provides enough info if not I’m sure ACCA website will have enough articles to support it or take your own notes from examiners answer to these kind of questions. It’ll be even better if you’re an auditor you might have the knowledge yourself.Sorry to be blabbering .. i just don’t want anyone to make the same mistake i made (underestimating ACCA exams/marking schemes!)
Let me know if you still want them

I was failed my P5 for 10 attempts, sitting this paper since 2012.I was failed with 45 to 47 marks from 1st attempt until this sitting of September 2016. of course my heart was broken many times and try to not giving up. P5 is my LAST paper to complete my ACCA. I was putting a lot of effort on this paper but still fail. I was looking forward to pass P5 which is last paper since 2014, Unfortunately, I still can’t meet my aim to become an affiliate. Hence, I decided to give up from today. It must be soooo hard for you I know it’s easier said than done but please please don’t give up. probably giving advice will annoy you than do any good but you know we’ve got to try it’s really heart breaking for us to see our co student in pain & giving up.
so as you’ve decided to give up ..you need a new hobby … why not study this paper for fun ? if possible don’t tell anyone you’re sitting / studying for this exam. study in your own pace don’t put any pressure on you .. you know ? you’ve given up so you don’t have to pass but just doing it for fun ?
may be set a target like this is my hobby for a full year from today if you pass before then fine you can pick a new hobby.
sorry to be blabbering but I don’t really want you to give up !!
please don’t give up please think about the time money & effort you’ve put in this qualification .. please don’t let this put you off.. it’ll be worth it – will pay off in general & monetary terms.
you know the salary diff between PQ & newly qualified/ qualified right? Please please please don’t give up
Vey best luck for the next sitting ! hope & pray for you to be affiliate end of Jan-17

Failed for 7th times..I’m giving upThomas1991,
Please please please please don’t give up buddy like the others said if you give up now it will be your worst regret in life…
I know it’s easier said than done it’s sooo heart breaking & tempting to give up but please don’t mate ! it must be your last or second last paper.. please don’t give up please ……I had to sit P2 5 times to pass it’s not like I hated it cos really liked studying P2 it’s just wasn’t the time until 5th attempt!!
don’t ask me how many times I had to do my driving test cos I can’t mind meself… I was a good driver or so my instructor said but at the test my nerves got the best of me & I would do something stupid which I’ve never done even in my first day of behind the wheel & you know the rest FAIL !!! was soo frustrated was gonna give up but the amazing people around me didn’t let me give up and i’m ever so grateful for them for that.it was an inexplicable feeling when I finally passed it felt like achieved something huge it was not about passing the test it was about not giving up & fighting back!!
I would like to refer to a couple my favourite quotes

Thanks very much for your reply, I can see that you’ve replied 28th of Feb but for some reason I only see it in here today (I kept checking every day) not sure if that’s something at my end or system not updated at your end .. it doesn’t bother me but just thought would let you know.
I was kind of hoping cash flow would come but i’m not sure now as you’ve mentioned deferred tax (don’t like it)
Thanks again
