Because some people do not work only to get that borderline pass mark. That’s it.

60 and I am disappointed for all the time that I invested in my two weeks revision. I am very bad at time management. Ratios interpretation not done and I did not even get time to go through all the questions once again. Bright side is that I passed.

how did u calculate the AP ratio
Did u find the purchases ???

If by AP you mean average purchases days, you should use cost of sales based on what is given.

    Anyway could help with this?
-And was the goodwill in mcq? 410,000 ..
Investment of parent 950- net assets acquisition 540(340 sharecapital +200retained earnings)

-In the ratios.. what was the big problem of roshan.co compared to the industrial average? The inventory days and payable days?

    I don’t remember the MCQ.

    For the other one:

Seasonal trading as it sells mainly winter clothes.

Having to compulsorily but from the parent while its competitors might be benefiting from better credit terms from other better suppliers.

Indeed comparability requires uniformity. if two companies have different accounting policies e.g depreciation method , their performance can not be reliably compared. Even if their reporting dates are different ; where is seasonal variations

how can you be so sure that conformity does not need uniformity ?
to compare two things, there needs to be a level playing field, no ?

But comparability and consistency are not the same.

-And was the carrying amount after depreciation and revaluation 11,000 in one of those mcqs?
-And gearing ration is for examining bla bla?
-And was the finance cost of preference shares 0.15?

    All same!

No, in comparability is no need for uniformity

I think apportionment should have been 3/12 as didn’t they aquire 1st July and y/e was 30th Sept?

I deducted inter co sales from revenue but I also deducted from COS too and added the PURP to COS which i now think is wrong.

What figure did people get for the unwinding of the discount to be added to finance costs??

    It is all correct.

The MCQs were very tricky. Trust me. And what the hell is contingent consideration.

Of course I managed to wrote three lines using my logic and they were right. Nonetheless… never heard of it.

The ratios question was not difficult but due to lack of time I answered only parts a and b.

Either the Section B or Section A has to be reduced. Or give 3.5 hours.

But there was no goodwill calculation!

For profit for the year attributable to NCI:
    20% * profit for year of subsidiary * 3/12
Less: NCI share (20%) of (impairment loss + unrealised profits + under-depreciation)

Finally an affiliate, after exactly 2 years; I registered in June 2015, received 7 exemptions & had to complete 7 papers. Yes, P5 was terrible (I liked the content though) but I am through withy worst pass mark to date, 54%. At this stage I don’t care, I just needed 50% after that shocking June exam, I got it! In March I got the highest P7 mark in SA.

Thanks to BPP, OpenTuition. Two years of self-study, no social life, putting in an 1.5-2 hours every morning before work, late nights of studying. I’m out……

    Hardwork pays. Congratulations.

Guys please check June 2009 Qu 5 Northland. I only practised papers from June 2012 to September 2016. I understand why ACCA removed those all papers from its public bank now.

It is not a one-off decision. Answer has to be the one saying being risk-neutral, choose highest expected value (bus).
