Got 59% on the first attempt. Honestly surprised but so relieved as it was my last paper.

Q1 was kaizen costing, ZBB and incremental budgeting and use of rfid in warehouse

Q2 was service business characteristics and building blocks model – determinants and standards

Q3 was EBITDA and EVA and reward scheme

The questions were not too bad but I made all the mistakes I wasn’t supposed to – poor planning, bad time management, poorly linking the scenario to the answer, and answering what I thought was the question instead of how I was supposed to answer it.

I’ll be lucky to pass, if i pass :/

Passed with an unbelievable 77 on the first try. I hadn’t thought I’d even attempted that much of the exam. I thought I’d get 47/48 or if I was lucky I’d scrape a pass. Very shocked.

I got my results through email, is it possible for it to be erroneous? Has that happened to anyone?

Thank you for the response Kim. I had seen the change in the syllabus but wasn’t sure how much impact it would have (a lot, it appears since the Kaplan book begins with the conceptual framework!).

Thank you for the link as well.

Passed with 70 on first attempt. Self studied for a month with a Kaplan revision kit and OpenTuition lectures.

I gave a cbe exam and finished in about 2.5 hours without rushing at any point. The mcqs were difficult though since quite a few had many smaller parts and getting any one wrong results in a zero for that question.

One 20 mark question was to calculate npv with a government subsidy tied to sales volume. And then to calculate sentivity of npv to sales volume, which was a tiny bit tricky.

The other 20 mark question was to calculate WACC, fairly standard and then to comment on directors finance suggestions.

Overall, the 20 mark Qs were easy

Thank you, Jetavi and Chris for the help. I haven’t tried the lecture videos yet, but I will now.
