    Completely agree with everyone here.

The extreme focus on risk management as a 50 mark question threw me off. But the 6 mark on what a delta hedge was AND asking us to hedge options using futures? I have worked my way through all the ACCA articles on this subject, and still failed this question by a country mile.

It also tried to throw us off by not giving us the option/future prices on the current date. So how can we calculate basis? We would have to ASSUME that the basis relationship is linear one month behind, but throwing that for the first time into a question was awful & I only realized that assumption after the exam.

Think this one is a write off unfortunately. Has been all first time passes up until here.

Hard exam, but optimistic, the corporation tax on the OS company really threw me off., as did the VAT on the capital good scheme.

    25 marks on EBITDA…

Hardest exam I have ever sat I think. And I only have a couple more from starting from scratch.

    Definitely Failed.

Overall a reasonable exam. I didn’t use any model which was kind of weird (except Baldridges performance excellence where it was asked for and given).

Evaluating a Risk Manager was a nice addition though, But the rest of it felt like common sense.

Yep, I have been studying for SBL & SBR since beginning of Sep for Dec exams (about 2 hours per day). And will probably cancel my planned SBR exam and just sit SBL.

SBR seems very technical and there seems to be a great deal to remember in terms of all the different accounting standards & their associated rules (especially equity…).I am planning to give SBR a full 3 months from January for March now (assuming I pass SBL!)

Yeah I got a weighted Average C/S ratio of 61% aswell for Faros Question C.

Then to get breakeven revenue, I then used Fixed Cost divided by C/S Ratio

There seemed to be alot of parts which could easily be missed with this question. Eg only 85% occupancy during Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

    Good Luck All.

Yep this is what I had aswell. You find them OK?

Zland Trust I struggled to think of any financial calculations I could do tbh outside of profit margins.

After seeing the issues which arose at the December session for remote exams, I will be passing this chance up myself. And use it as additional time to study for my (hopefully June) exam.

This is especially applicable to me, as I am heavily reliant on using scrap paper, I usually take about two toilet breaks per sitting as I have a small bladder. And my internet is not the most reliable.

Found the MCQ’s relatively straightforwards, but really struggled on the long questions. Would be surprised if I got 2 or 3 marks on the last 15 mark question unfortunately.

Ok great thanks for answering. I’ll treat this as more of a red herring/outlier!

I’m unfortunately not too sure on this exam either. Alot of it seemed detailed tested on extremely small parts of the syllabus..

Makes me suspect that the pass rate is deemed too high for FR… but we will see. Fingers crossed for everyone here.
