How can you vouch it was not easier if you have not done AAA in the past?

I did the AAA in December 2018. Then the pass rate was 31% vs 38% now
    AFM 41% vs 46% now
    APM 33% vs 33%
    ATX 40% vs 49%

All except APM have an significant increase in pass rates.

Have they made the optional exams easier? I have not seen these high pass rates on these exams in the past.

As long as you work for international companies it is highly regarded.

I work in Switzerland and many companies here have ACCA / ACA / CPA as requirements for applying.

How much did you guys get through of the AAA exam? I only managed about 75% timing was bad

I did 100% but really stressed on the last two questions. I spent too much time on the first question , especially around business risk which in the end was only 8 points.

It doesn’t – I received similar e-mails before the September results were released and I passed my final exam in that session, so whatever e-mails you’re receiving a the moment are no indication of a pass or fail.

Why are you still here? 🙂

Who told you.thats what they say to brain wash us. Is ACCA better than other professional qualifications like CIMA or ICAEW. infact is easier with hardwork to pass this exams with good pass rate. Does it make ACCA better if they intentionally makes exams difficult so that so. Many students will fail, reregister for ACCA to get more money. Look at their pass rate around same percentage each year. It tells you that they have in mind the number of students who are suppose to pass before the exams and will do everything to achieve the pass rate.so even if you get 50 and they achieve their pass rate they will still fail you. Let me ask you, which employer will employ you because you sat the most difficult exams. No, open your eyes folks. ACCA used to give fresh 10 years any time there is a syllabus change but this time they didn’t,instead of giving fresh 7 years they didn’t but rather allow the new policy to affects both old and new students alike.how is it fair.if the policy was in place long time most students would have strategies differently.they seems not to care even if you are a student and have challenges they won’t mind you.they will say this today an do a different thing to favour only ACCA but not students.i keep on regretting each day for paying money for all this hardship and frustration .dont argue for them like this

Maybe if you have not passed after 10 years, ACCA is not for you.

I would be careful trying to find out the results ahead, ACCA wrote in the last email regarding the results

“In previous exam sessions, it has been highlighted that unauthorised attempts have been made to access exam results prior to the published results release date. Whilst we appreciate your desire to find out your exam results at the earliest opportunity, this type of activity, from an unauthorised source, places significant risk on the release of results to all ACCA students.

ACCA requests that students refrain from such activity. For the security of all students and to protect the integrity of the exams process, any unauthorised attempt to access student information is being monitored by ACCA and we will follow up any such attempts.”

Regarding the celebrity, I had it both as a business risk and an audit risk.

The business risk in case he is involved in a scandal and money is already paid upfront

Audit risk – for in which period the expense is recorded

I think it is actually bad for the first sitting….it looks like next sitting they will be aiming for the pass rate to be around as same as options. Same with SBR.

When you say bad, do you mean that you think the pass rate should be lower?

It is in line with the previous P1 and P3 exams.

I respectfully disagree regarding the seven year rule. The point of the qualification is to have up to date knowledge. Passing an exam seven years ago will not give you this. Also, students are now not limited to ten years and so can go back to the qualification after a break if needed. Before, if you didn’t pass after ten years you were cut off.

A qualification like this is not going to be for everyone – if it was, there’d be no point in doing it as it would be worth nothing. Unfortunately not everyone will finish it, but I think with enough determination and the right mindset most people *could* get to the end.

I agree. The 7-year rule is applicable to the P-level exams. Basically, you have 7 years to finish 4 exams. If you can’t manage that, maybe ACCA is not for you.

What would be ideal advise for someone planning to sit in December … in terms of materials and questions to focus on ?

The notes and lectures on Opentuition work perfectly. But you should get a revision kit to practice the kind of questions that might come on the exam.

I spent the last two weeks before the exam just practicing questions which helped a lot getting familiar with the style and type of questions that might come on the exam.

The questions in the exam mix topics from the whole syllabus, but at least make sure you are familiar with the different models for strategic planning, risk etc. Then you can refer to them and apply in your answer.
