It’s nothing unusual, here you have December’s results, which looks basically same.
https://opentuition.com/topic/which-december-2021-acca-exam-was-the-hardest-instant-poll-results/
I dunno how these 2 exams (SBL and SBR) have similar pass rates.

Well, I guess we had similar question in one of our courses.
And the answer, if I remember correctly, was simple – these are possible thresholds auditor may use depending on the company. Since you’re not preparing a deep company evaluation here with final materialities, just justify that that this amount is between possible materiality thresholds and highly likely gonna be material or that it is prudent to assume material or smth. Basically the lower % is the threshold for materiality.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
January 28, 2022 at 6:09 pm #647655Wondering why te merge 2 sessions?
Wanted to check comments on my APM done in September, and I think haven’t found even one same question.
Funny thing I wanted to check AAA which I did in December, and same issue here :).
January 17, 2022 at 10:47 pm #646804Being fully honest myacca site is a nightmare.
I had a lot of issues that i couldnt login. Site design horrendous. You CAN’T find anything easily there. You find article that link you to direct site, when you open it it’s myacca landing page and then you spend a lot of time looking where designer placed the button you’re looking for.
So well, I would trust them, they will fix it at some point.
And really, ACCA website is the worst designed sites I have ever seen.

You should have it in the profile, for majority of users.

You can have quite extensive use of Excel i.e. in “maximin” type of question, which happen from time to time, but generally true, there are many sittings you don’t touch Excel at all.
SBR and APM were definitely toughest exams for me. First, because of sheer volume of info in the paper, plus many standards to learn (and some that I never understood i.e. leaseback), second because I’ve honestly struggled to understand all requirements.
January 17, 2022 at 1:33 pm #646718I had quite similar with AA, I thought I did great and at the end I got 56% which was lowest score I had from Fs. Was bit shocked by rating, but happy to pass.
Due to above on AAA I had a feeling I did good, but still kept in my mind that mine marking may be diferrent than marker’s ;). But it was fine this time.
December 16, 2021 at 8:11 pm #644435doesnt link to a website, but to direct download, dunno if this can be fixed.
Also dunno if the file is same, but looking at it it seems yes.
December 16, 2021 at 7:51 pm #644434You can, and you cannot. You need luck.
My reply is probably much outdated, but just in case anyone else wonder.
I think for all P levels (ones I took i.e. SBL, SBR, APM, AAA) I was watching opentuition.
And I know, but cannot remember now exact numbers, that videos vary between like 9 – 22 hours in total.
I did an Excel of my “completion” of watching these videos, that motivated me because I saw the % of completion.
I.e. if you have a list of 30 videos to watch, with very variable duration, you soon become quite demotivated. But if you watch same videos, with an Excel list showing your progress, it’s much more motivating. I.e. I am at 77% today! If I watch next one I will have 82%! Only 18% remaining!
I think it would be great if OT would add something like this on their site. You can watch videos and mark watched ones, to see your progress.
But going back to your question.
As said above OT vids are for like day, two or three, depending on your commitment. Definitely not enough to pass.
However I think that if you’re intelligent you can pass every P level with like 7 full days of preparation.
It still gonna be a quite a lottery for you, but chances are rather high.
Opposite way, you can spend months to prepare and be sure to pass, unless youve got some sudden blockade.
However I think that you have to be either:
– very committed (month+ of full time study) or
– “reasonably commited” (week+ study),there is not much in between at least for me. I often had thoughts, that another week of study would give nothing to me. Not that I know everything, but just one week is not enough to have a full comprehensive knowledge.
December 16, 2021 at 7:34 pm #644432Cmon Kim, it was just a one sentence long sarcasm, considering what question has been asked (second technical issue in one week, losing work done ine the spreadsheet).
Hopefully noone else took it serious.
December 15, 2021 at 5:49 pm #644362Of course it is common and normal, that’s why the pass rates are so low.
And being serious – you should request for a free retake I guess, unless you believe you will pass based on remaining 75 points + what you redone. But I am not an expert, but definitely 25 is a lot and won’t be added back.
Anyway, I had 4 remote exams and experienced only minor issues for minute or two with internet connection. Dunno if this was my fault or ACCA, possibly latter as I was suggested to fill mitigating circumstances by my learning provider, stating other people also had it.
December 6, 2021 at 4:16 pm #642743It’s all fine.
You can choose hours even, which is nice. From morning to the afternoon I believe. So you can have have additional time to study or sleep, not like usual exams which start at the same hour.
Minuses:
I’ve failed my first remote exam. It was one of P’s and first I’ve failed. I just couldnt get used to the “new format” and have same “stress acceleration” as I had in the classrom. Also, if you behave strange during the exam, like me (i.e. talking silently to yourself, or looking at blank space in the ceiling) this may prompt invigilator to chat you if all fine or request you to show something.
But all else was great and I believe had 4 remote exams already.
July 30, 2021 at 8:54 pm #629884Honestly, don’t know what’s a good advice to pass this exam.
I have a 5 days paid trainings sponsored by my employer for each ACCA. Then i usually take few days off near exam, to study.
So my preparations are like 10 days in total.
This worked well on all F’s, and on SBL. On SBR I have failed with 44% few months ago (and during preparations I have not managed to open any actual past exam).
This time I got 54% which is quite nice, and I am super happy about it.
But still, I honestly dont know how you can prepare for SBR, without spending weeks or months to go though every standard.
October 23, 2020 at 8:10 pm #592972andy dont be hysterical.
Although I agree, that since they mark each exam, markings should be available to you so you are aware what you did well or bad. And exams are transparent.
October 19, 2020 at 9:57 pm #590628joemilburn wrote:Honestly think my exam must have been corrupted, I was pretty confident I had done enough – even with the two hour exam delays! 49% is an absolute killer I’m gutted
Well, you still definitely have more strength that majority of people in your place would have, as you come here and share your thoughts. I hope you will pass next attempt although fully understand how you feel now.
I was really worried that I will fail F5, F7 and F9 (rather numerical ones) and was really certain I did AA very very well. At the end, from AA, I got worst score from all exams I had.
So after SBL I had good feelings in general but, due to the nature of it, also assumed that I may fail. And was quite close.
September 10, 2020 at 11:08 am #584654Had few exams, and scientific calc, always was a bit worried when “supervisor” told that we cannot have any devices that are able to display text. Think all scientific calcs can, and its not AND (store and display) but OR.
But nobody every questioned this.
September 10, 2020 at 10:59 am #584652Well, ive joined big4 in my early 30’s…Having a lot of people working with being around 20 on similiar position.
First CBEs were like a nightmare, going back several years to all these study exams, that you thought/hoped to have all behind. That’s imo objective truth – older you are, less equipped mentally for exams you are.
It’s worth to studdy ACCA if you have anything to gain from it, else than paper. I.e. if you work in the same company for 20 years and plan to stay there, you have to pay for your exams – then I just guess it may be just additional stress for you with minimum benefit. If you’re open and ready to change/improve your work or position, and have time available to spend on studying – then go for ACCA.
Just saying that ACCA require a lot of effort and if you’re already well recognised in your field or it suits you well how it is I dont think benefits outweigh costs. But if you want to improve or change, and willing to commit, then yes.
September 9, 2020 at 10:05 pm #584544Honestly, havent noticed at all people leaving. Maybe because I had a lucky number – 69 (total end of site and in the corner). Been in this situation many times, think dealt well.
September 8, 2020 at 1:30 pm #584091I had private charity i.e. wildlife charity.
One tasks was to write about agency in case on non fin organisations, benefits of two tier board and entity financial and non financial performance (think like 15 points in total.. or 30, really sorry)
there was also, for around 15 points if remember correctly, to write about proposing some extending of their IT services for their e-business (3 slides).
There was also external environment analysis+ something I forgot.
Both 1 & 2 for total of circa 60 points?
Third one – company had some risks in the risk register and you had to be sceptic about these (ie. if need to be updated).
Last one was about why trustee board should be diverse and why management board should constantly develop.
Maybe someone can correct/fill, suprising how easily you forgot on what you have spent 4 hours just a moment ago.
October 14, 2019 at 1:30 am #549237Imo most annoying thing is sound of other people typing/calculating, especially if you have, atm, nothing in your mind ;;.
October 14, 2019 at 12:40 am #549195October 14, 2019 at 12:17 am #549159I am always pissed on myself, because basically after every exam I think to myself that one more day for learning and I would pass without any issues.
From F’s I miss only tax, and for all F5, F7 & F9 for whole time since exam till receiving results I had this damn feeling, that probably I am gonna fail. And couldn’t keep thinking why why I haven’t planned this one additional day in advance.
Especially painful that at my work almost everyone at team does them and definitely results will be discussed.
Only exception was F8 which I was sure I did awesomely well. And for now I have worst mark from F8 accross all other Fs, but thankfully passed…
July 15, 2019 at 8:25 am #523444Passed on first attempt with 58%, but…
Honestly I thought I will have much much better results, was virtually certain I’ll pass and now I see it’s just 9% buffer.
Also the same week I took F7 – and all the time since exam I thought, that F8 went really well, while I have really screwed F7… And I got better results from F7…
