What is this theoretical ex price ??
How it is used in the real world ???
What is does to the shares of the company ??
It is the price that the share will fall to following a rights issue of shares. It is theoretical and therefore the price can be above or below this value depending on the market reaction to the rights issue, i.e. favourable or unfavourable.
Hope this helps.
