A real estate development company constructs its own resorts and houses to be either sold or rented. The company pays a huge amount of money on advertising campaigns to sell its properties. Each one of the campaigns is attributable to its own project.
The company capitalise the costs attributable to projects and expenses the costs of the company as a brand.
Is this accounting treatment correct?
