Please I need help with how the to Translate goodwill with impairment loss under Consolidation of foreign subsidiaries
Which exchange rate is appropriate? average or current rateHi,
You translate the goodwill at the start of the year at the opening rate and at the end of the year at the closing rate. The impairment is recognised through profit or loss and so would be at the average rate.
