Dear Sir,
I heard people saying no one can do more than eight exam per year in any country and which means 8 exams in four semester of a year because its rules and regulation of ACCA. Therefore would you please ensure me that whether it is true or if not then whats the current rules of acca in terms of sitting maximum exams per year.
Thanking you in advance.
Kind Regards
ChowdhuryDecember 14, 2015 at 10:30 am #291678Hi,
You can attempt up to 4 exams per session, but only 8 per year. For example if you’re attempting 4 exams in March and 4 in June, then you cannot attempt any more exams for September and December.
Hope this helps.

Remember it’s 8 “different ” exams a year. So resits will not be counted. For self study, OT’s resources are enough for you to pass.
1. download the notes. (and print if you can)
2. Listen to the lectures while following the notes and working through examples.
3.Still some problem? Ask on the “Ask the Tutor” Forum for your relevant Paper.
4.Still Need some one? Find a study buddy @ https://opentuition.com/studybuddy/5. (most imp) practice as many questions as you can from revision kit/past paers/ OT’s MCQ tests. If you face any problem go to step 3.
and don’t for get to read the technical articles from acca’s website and OT.
Good Luck!
December 27, 2015 at 2:57 pm #292806Dear Aleem,
Thank you for your response. There are one more thing please ensure me that do i have to complete F1 to F9 before i sit for any professional exam. If its then which means i have to attempt and pass all of them from F1 to F9 and then i can start professional paper from P1.
I heard people saying thats why please make sure me whether it is rules of acca or it is not true.
Kind Regards
ChowdhuryDecember 27, 2015 at 5:04 pm #292817Yes that’s right.
“Papers must be taken in line with the following module order, however you can attempt the papers within each module in any order:Knowledge (F1-F3) – available by computer-based exam (CBE) or paper-based format in selected markets
Skills (F4-F9) – all available by paper-based format with F4 English and F4 Global also available by CBE
Professional (Essentials P1-P3 and Options P4-P7) – available by paper-based format”.December 28, 2015 at 12:49 pm #292856Thank you for your quick response. I got exemption from F1 to F4 and my plan was like i would sit for exam For F5 and F8 in March, F6 and F7 in June, F9 and P1 in September and P2 and P3 in December as i have to do 8 exams in a year.
As you said that first i have to finish from F4 to F9 which means i have to pass all of them up to F9 before i attempt for P1.So now i think i can’t be able to sit for F9 and P1 exam in September first i have to finish F9 in September then i can start from P1 in December.
Please ensure me whether am i right or wrong.
Kind Regards
ChowdhuryDecember 28, 2015 at 1:25 pm #292858Hi! You can sit both F9 and P1 during one session.
You have to have pass mark OR at least be registered (and pay) for all F papers before registering for P papers.January 12, 2016 at 10:47 am #294208@ Remember it’s 8 “different ” exams a year. So resits will not be counted.
Yes, that’s correct. Basically, you’re not supposed to pass more than 8 subjects (papers) a year (ACCA Progression Rule). Keeping that formula in mind you can take as many resits as you like.
