Fundamental to almost all of the topics and questions in P4 is a thorough understanding of investment appraisal and of cost of capital (including, obviously, CAPM). If necessary, it would be useful to go back to the Paper F9 lectures and check that you are 100% happy with these.

When you are certain about these areas then it is a case of learning and understanding the extra topics – use the lectures (and I will add more over time) but also use a Study Text from one of the ACCA approved publishers, and even more vital – get a Revision Kit from one of the approved publishers and learn from past questions.

It is more important in the exam that you can prove that you understand what is happening than you can get the arithmetic correct (there is rarely just one correct answer because so often it depends on assumptions; and there are usually as many marks for writing as there are for the calculations). The more reading you do the better – both from a Study Text and also by reading more general economic/business articles from (for example) The Economist. You can find lots of articles online by searching in Google, and Wikipedia is also a good source of information.
