Hi
I have done FR exam in Dec and result is not out yet. I want to sit Tax in March but I think it is going to be very tight as I have got job and baby to look after. I am thinking to sit Tax in June, If I sit taxation in June and If I don’t go through. Will there be massive tax syllabus change, that I have to go through every single thing?
Please suggest
January 3, 2023 at 4:57 pm #675345I am going to assume you are referring to UK variant for purpose of this response, if this is not the case please correct this assumption. The way tax syllabus changes is different than for other subjects. Tax syllabus runs from June to the following March. I have had a look at syllabi and there are some minor changes to syllabus. The June 2023- March 2024 syllabus (inclusive) is therefore slightly different from June 2022- March 2023 (inclusive) syllabus. You can see changes if you click on following link and then download 2023/24 syllabus. At end of document you will find changes to syllabus from previous year-
Hope this helps.

January 3, 2023 at 5:08 pm #675347If you sit in June 2023, I believe you will have up to three further opportunities (exam diets) to retake under same syllabus. You may also find the following thread where I advise on a study strategy for a particular individual useful if you can adjust it to your own particular needs-

April 5, 2023 at 7:36 pm #682251Dear Mr. Jonbain,
I sat for the taxation exam in December 2022. However I need to retake the exam due to an application error on my work station. I’m resitting the exam this June 2023. While revising with the free Open tuition lecture noted i realise that there are certain changes. Such as, in Chapter 9 ( Employment Income) the fuel benefits is now 25300. But according to the textbook the rate is 24,600 and also the van benefit used to be 3,500 but on the OT notes the rate is 3,600.
Please explain to me these changes, if there are any other changes, and if it will apply to the June 2023 exam or if it is the new syllabus for 2024.
Thank you.
Sabrina.

April 6, 2023 at 9:24 pm #682355Thank You Mr. Jonbait for the prompt reply. So basically for the June 2023 exam the tax table for June 2023- March 2024 will apply correct?
April 7, 2023 at 7:40 am #682360Yes, that’s correct. Also applies with regard to the examinable documents (relevant from June 2023 to March 2024 inclusive). Hope this helps.
