Hi,
In Step acquisitions if before we did not have control and now we have control so the difference in our previous holding goes to RE and IS right?
And what if we already had control but only obtained more percentage of NCI? then where does the difference go to?
Thanks,
Furqan
Hi,
If we now have control the change in the previous holding goes through profit or loss and therefore appear in retained earnings on the group statement of financial position.
On purchase of any additional holding, we do not need to value any previously held interest to fair value. All we do is adjust for a change in ownership through group reserves.
Thanks
