Thanks alot sir
and in part 2 info gathering and its limitations ive also put such points like:internet may cause eye strain and back pain if used excessively.
and advantage is that it saves paper n inksimilarly i have also talked abt the student accountant as a source of info.
Is it correct?
November 13, 2013 at 5:16 pm #145859November 13, 2013 at 10:37 pm #145903Hi,
I refer to Appendix 6 ? Research and analysis project checklist
i don´t quite get the checklist that said ´´´´Is your Research Report more than 7,000 words and your SLS more than 1800 words? Any submission under this word count is unlikely to pass.¨¨¨
since the word limit is 7500, then it is more than 7000….???
thank you
November 14, 2013 at 12:23 am #145911hi , it is acceptable band range, means must be between 7000 and 7500 words and sls between 1800-2000 words.
November 14, 2013 at 1:44 pm #145995I have submitted documents in following format and following names. PLEASE TELL IF IT IS OK AND ENOUGH ( I did topic 8)
RAP in word
SLS in word
Bibliography in word
Slides in power point
Appendices (Financial Statements) in pdf
Appendices (Spreadsheet) in pdfNovember 14, 2013 at 2:09 pm #146001@sisi sisi
Yes, it means that any project below 7,000 words will not be market and SLS below 1800 words will not be marked.
Thank You.

I just realised something, If every word in RAP will get counted, does this also mean that words in headers and footers will also be included in the word count?
November 14, 2013 at 3:22 pm #146019@jk0323
No they will not counted in word count but it is recommended to already leave a spread of 100 words.
Thank You.
November 14, 2013 at 4:13 pm #146034Dear Ahmed,
I attempted Topic 20 and failed my RAP but passed the SLS. Now I have changed my research topic but the organisation is still the same, do I resubmit the RAP only or the RAP and SLS since I have changed the topic?
Thamk you
November 14, 2013 at 6:11 pm #146062@I jah man
You do not need to resubmit re submission statement. Just write in it you have changed topic and why ? You will Submit RAP only.
Thank You.
November 15, 2013 at 3:06 am #146101Dear Hammad,
May I check if we need to include a listing of the charts and tables under the contents page?
Also, do we need to include a computation breakdown for income statm YoY analysis since the YoY figures are direct extracted from the statm?
p.s. I have sent you via email my RR for your review.
Many thanks.
November 15, 2013 at 5:33 am #146107No you don’t need to do listing of charts and tables under content page.
No you do not need to present computation background. Just present formulas you have used in calculating ratios and financial statements in appendices.
I have emailed you back.
Thank You.
November 15, 2013 at 10:12 am #146123Thanks sir hammad
and what should the font body be ?November 15, 2013 at 10:48 am #146124November 15, 2013 at 10:48 am #146125i mean should it be calibri body or arial?
November 15, 2013 at 10:50 am #146127and sir what should the size of in text referencing be?should it be the same size as used in the whole Rap?
November 15, 2013 at 10:51 am #146128@ Hammad Ahmed Qureshi Thanks for answering
I have included appendices but have not mentioned them in RAP…is that fine??
and i showed calculation inside tables in RAP and also showed the in appendices…does this duplication harm negatively??
is there quota in obu bsc programme,..sounds absurd but i have heard that somewhere???Thanks.
November 15, 2013 at 2:35 pm #146160I have 3 questions
1.In the ppt presentation shud i use arial?
2.Should the in text referencing be of the same font size as the research report?
3.how can i reference the annual report?thanks and regards
November 15, 2013 at 4:28 pm #146184@M.
What do you mean by not mentioned in RAP?
You should not show calculations in RAP, show in appendices.
No there is no quota. You just need to make a reasonable and balanced report. You are not expected to do something exceptional out of the blue. There are 7 skills for Report and 2 for SLS, if you meet them then there is no chance of failing. If you leave some loopholes such as not mentioning limitations of one model etc then you increase risk of failure.
Thank You.
November 15, 2013 at 4:30 pm #1461871. Yes use Arial
2. Referencing text size does not matter but must be readable.
3. You can reference as a number [1] or (Annual Report, 2011)
Thank You.
November 15, 2013 at 8:28 pm #146214Ok sir
But can i reference like this
(GLPL 2013 pg 27) and is it compulsory that i put the page num in ref the annual report? And my word count is as follows
Part one 834 words
Part 2-1225 words
Part 3-5100
Is it fine?November 15, 2013 at 8:43 pm #146220No page numbering is not necessary.
Part 1 is fine but allocate some words part 3 to part 2.
Thank You.

Sir, can I skip using tables in the doc of Research report and instead plot the table on the excel sheet of Working and Appendices file? ’cause that would save me a lot of words. In commentary of ratios, I will refer to that excel sheet table. - AuthorPosts
