    I have an issue with the word count being too low. I was going for the quality of the report rather than quantity and ended up with only 5500 words. is this too low to achieve a pass?

    I have not included the graphs in my report rather I have included in the power point slides and excel tables.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    @isookvi no way man, tell me what you want and I will fill pages upon pages – are you kidding —7500 words—–7500 words or you loose precious pounds —-GB pounds—-gold —(:-

    There is a requirement in the information pack that clearly states that you have to show evidence of using IT in your report. By putting these graphs and tables in PowerPoint slides you will not be able fulfil this requirement. so, you will have to show these tables and charts in your research report if you need to pass this RAP.

    Dear Hammad… I have received an email response form OBU…plz comment on it….

    BS-ACCA-BSc

    To Me

    Dear student,

    Thank you for your email. I will try to explain what we need from you;

    The project (RAP) has a maximum allowance of 7,500 words, any words in excess of this will not be marked;

    Each section has a SUGGESTED word count, these are not fixed and there is no penalty if you write more or less in each section;

    You will have some words, on your title page, contents, acknowledgements, etc that you will have to count to the total;

    Your total available for Parts 1,2 & 3 will then be less than 7,500 words

    You need to remember to count all words, including any words AND NUMBERS in table, graphs and pictures;

    I hope that this helps, but please remember you are only asked to write between 7,000 and 7,500 words.

    We look forward to receiving your project,

    Kind regards,
    John

    Yeah, based on your information your word count is 7500. My word count was 7491 which included 358 words in charts and graphs. BTW words in table are counted by Microsoft word.

    @Dawn
    Yes, words in X &Y axis of graphs will be included in the word count. so you must count them too. I will give you an advice which i used, put data labels on your charts and delete both the axis this will reduce your word count.
    you can put data labels by RIGHT clicking any chart that you have made in excel and then clicking ADD DATA LABELS .

    Thanks for the tips. So there’ll be no scale shown?
    We still need one of the axis to reflect year, right?

    Dear Hamad or any kind soul,

    Can you advise me if an evaluation is still required since I’ve covered the bench-marking of organisations.
    As highlighted in the OBU info pack, it seems to evaluate is to form judgement and this should be against a comparator.
    So, to have another section for evaluation of the main company’s performance is it duplicating?

    I’ve covered my conclusion based on how well objectives n qns have been met but nothing on the above.

    Thanks.

    @isookvi

    Minimum Wordcount for RAP is 7,000. Your analysis must be over 4000. Further, you need to increase your word count.

    Word count include everything except for list of references and appendices (these are two separate documents).

    Thank You.

    @cheeta0123

    Yes they are write but your RAP must be over 7000 except for graph and charts. Do not worry about that leave a spread of 100 to 200 words for graph and charts. You will not fail based on that.

    Thank You.

    @Dawn

    Graphs and charts are counted but will as a rough estimate not each and every word in graph and chart will lead to fail. Again i will say to leave a spread of 100 to 200 words.

    Thank You
