Who is usually responsible for authorising the purchase requisition?
(A) Purchasing manager
(B) Stores manager
(C) Production manager
(D) Management accountant.
Sir I am just having contradictions. Few internet sites are supporting ‘B’ and some goes for ‘A’.
Kindly help.
Does the word “authorizing” means that who is approving or signing the requisition or does it mean that who is drafting or issuing the requisition?
Authorizing means approving. eg your manager would authorize your expense claim form that you had made out.
So here, I would go for A…..certainly NOT B as then there is poor segregation of duties if the store manager is both looking after stores and authorizing purchase.
Thank You Sir.
