    hello sir can you please tell me a rule to follow in questions when considering the no of employees to take in equity and cash based share payments.its really confusing.also if possible can u then explain how have they done in bpp text eg 1.9 of chapter:share based payment

    Hi,

    There is not set rule unfortunately and I agree that it is confusing. The key bis that you’re trying to work out how many employees there will be at the end of the vesting period. To do this at each reporting period you need to take into consideration not only those employees who have already left but also those that you think will leave in the remaining future years.

    I’ll try and look at the example you mention over the weekend.
