Could I check whether for SBR, do we need to write out the whole long name of the IAS/IFRS standards (eg. IFRS8 Operating Segments)? Does it important to write it out in full or just write the standard like IFRS8 will do? How the marks will be given?

I have the same question, and what if we don’t remember the number on the IFRS or IAS?
Thanks,
Sonia.December 1, 2018 at 3:05 pm #486684Hello both,
From listening to the lectures provided by Chris, I remember he mentioned that we do not get any marks for mentioning the exact number of the IAS, IFRS. Of course if you do remember, put it in, but if not, I don’t think it makes any difference.
I believe the same is applicable in regards to the name, as long as you know the accounting treatments, that is way more relevant than the actual name.
Hopefully the Tutor will confirm my understanding as well.
December 3, 2018 at 8:57 pm #487059Correct, you do not get any credit for putting in the correct IFRS or IAS number. Include it if you wish but why bother, particularly if you then get it wrong!
Correct again, you don’t need to name the standard just apply the rules to what is given within the scenario.
Thanks
