How do you find out the retained earnings at acquisition if it is not given in the question?
Hi,
This usually happens when you have a mid-year acquisition. You will have to calculate it using the closing retained earning and the profit for the year and work backwards by pro-rating the profit for the year and deducting this from the closing retained earnings to get the retained earnings at acquisition.
Thanks
