since we had non savings taxable income in the question why didn’t we put the nil rate band for 500 as (DORA HOUSE was a higher rate tax payer) in the tax calculation and straight away deducted the tax relief
Firstly my apologies for the delayed reply – re your question – the £500 nil rate band you refer to is only relevant for SAVINGS income – not non savings income
